Miegel Shoves on Martini

Level 17 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Jakob Miegel
Jakob Miegel

Julien Martini bet 140,000 on the {a-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} turn and Jakob Miegel called. He then watched Martini bet 260,000 on the {6-Clubs} river.

After a while, Miegel announced all in.

"If you snap shove, I snap call," said Martini thinking out loud. "Ace-king with the king of clubs you three-bet pre..."

Eventually he folded and Miegel took down another pot.

With 115,000 in the pot and the board showing {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{2-Spades}{7-Clubs}{q-Clubs}, Romain Le Dantec checked his option. Julien Sitbon, his compatriot, bet 35,000.

The pair shared some wry smiles before Le Dantec folded and turn over a seven. Sitbon then turned over the {a-Clubs} before sending his other card to Christopher Puetz. Puetz turned over Sitbon's {a-Hearts} and said "so obvious!."

Martini Overbets River

Level 17 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

With 115,000 in the pot on the {10-Spades}{8-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{5-Hearts} board, Julien Martini overbet the pot from the small blind. His opponent, Fahredin Mustafov, quickly folded for Martini to regain some chips early on.

Achegsei Limp Jams

Level 17 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Ahmad Achegsei limped in the small blind before moving all-in after Johan Guilbert raised to 46,000. Guilbert made the snap fold for Achegsei to chip up.

Miegel Making Moves

Level 17 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

The board read {5-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{8-Spades}{3-Spades}{10-Clubs} and Jakob Miegel bet 185,000. His opponent was Julien Martini who tank-called, but mucked when Miegel showed {a-Clubs}{q-Spades} for top pair.

Miegel has practically doubled his chip count since the start of the day, at the expense of Martini.

Day 2 of Event #13: €10,000 NLH 6-Max will set up Day 3's final table as the field will be whittled down from the current 13 players to just six.

Chip leader Julien Martini (1,317,000) will be looking to secure a third bracelet at the 2021 World Series of Poker Europe following his victories in Event #8: €2,500 Short Deck and Event #12: €2,000 8-Game.

The United States' Roland Israelashvili is also on course to produce another impressive feat, he has played five events at this year's series and has cashed in every single one of them.

Although he currently sits at the bottom of the pack of the Day 1 survivors, his experience in these spots will prove paramount.

Day 1 saw a bumper field with a plethora of famous faces in the crowd with the likes of Bertrand "Elky" Grospellier, Johan Guilbert and Sirzat Hissou successfully navigating the first 16 levels of play.

In total, there were 73 entries which beefed the prizepool up to a eyebrow raising €672,695, with the winner taking home €207,267 as well as the WSOP bracelet. Two players who have made it this far will miss out on the money as only the top 11 places get paid.
