Sonny Franco (2,460,000) ended Day 2 of Event #13: €10,000 NLH 6-Max as the overall chip leader ahead of the final table after an action packed four and a half hours of play.

Just 13 players returned to King's Resort, Rozvadov this morning to continue their quest for gold bracelet glory as well as the €207,267 first-place prize.

The day started with hand-for-hand play as just 11 of the remaining players would make the money. Fahredin Mustafov was the first player to fall by the wayside before Johan Guilbert was ousted on the bubble.

Julien Sitbon became the first player to bust in the money and he was shortly followed by Roland Israelashvili. The United States' based player made it six cashes from six events at the 2021 World Series of Poker Europe.

Ivan Bryksin and Julien Martini would exit next. Ahmad Achegsei just missed out on the final table as Sirzat Hissou made a set to defeat his opponent's overpair.

Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier has the chance to join the three WSOP bracelet club after compatriot Julien Martini pulled off the feat earlier this week. He will need to spin his stack up as he sits fourth in the current chip standing.

Ahmad Achegsei Eliminated in 7th Place (€26,881)

Level 22 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Ahmad Achegsei
Ahmad Achegsei

Ahmad Achegsei jammed for 340,000 in the cutoff, action folded to Sirzat Hissou, who had just lost a sizeable pot to Sonny Franco, jammed from the small blind. Christopher Puetz folded in the big blind.

Ahmad Achegsei: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
Sirzat Hissou: {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}

Achegsei was in a good place for a double after the {k-Spades}{5-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} flop but had heartbreak when the {9-Hearts} was dropped on the turn. The {a-Diamonds} completed the board to send Achegsei out in seventh-place.

Le Dantec Cracks Aces

Level 22 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Romain Le Dantec
Romain Le Dantec

Bertrand "Elky" Grospellier made an aggressive start to the unofficial final table, moving all-in to scoop the opening bets and blinds.

He then opened to 85,000 on the button and then called the small blind all-in from Romain Le Dantec.

Romain Le Dantec: {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}
Bertrand "Elky" Grospellier: {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}

Le Dantec was in bad shape but added two outs after making a pair of jacks on the {q-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{2-Spades} flop. The {8-Hearts} turn meant the at risk player would have to hit his two-outer on the river, and that he did as the {j-Spades} hit the felt.

Julien Martini Eliminated in 8th Place (€21,651)

Level 22 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Julien Martini
Julien Martini

Julien Martini shoved from the button for 175,000 and was looked up by Romain Le Dantec in the big blind.

Julien Martini: {q-Clubs}{5-Clubs}
Romain Le Dantec: {a-Spades}{7-Spades}

Both players flopped pairs on the {7-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{8-Hearts} flop, and although the {6-Diamonds} opened up some chop outs, the river {10-Hearts} bricked and Martini was eliminated.

The remaining seven players are now redrawing around two tables.

Achegsei and Grospellier All-In Again

Level 22 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Ahmad Achegsei and Bertand "Elky" Grospellier were all-in against each other for a third time in Day 2, this time with Achegsei at risk.

Ahmad Achegsei: {a-Clubs}{10-Spades}
Bertand "Elky" Grospellier: {a-Spades}{9-Clubs}

Neither player hit {q-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} board but Achegsei high cards proved to be the winner for the double up.
