Casagrande Sent Home by Lakerveld

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Harald Casagrande checked from the big blind on a board of 105AK. Daniel Lakerveld then bet 20,000 from the button and Casagrande raised all in for roughly 75,000 chips.

Lakerveld called with the slightly covering stack and the cards went on their backs.

Harald Casagrande: K5
Daniel Lakerveld: QJ

A big cooler had occurred on the turn, as Casagrande obtained two pair, but Lakerveld had the better hand with the straight. Casagrande failed to pair up on the J river, and Lakerveld chipped up to just below an average stack.

Paduano Makes Move at the Wrong Time

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Arturo Paduano
Arturo Paduano

Arturo Paduano had jammed preflop for 135,300 and Jonas Hagström went into the tank before he called.

Once Hagström tabled his QQ, Paduano shrugged and sighed as he was caught on a move with the Q9.

The board ran out 101089A and that spelled the end for Paduano.

"Merry Christmas," Ermanno Di Nicola joked to the Swede.

Majed Calls Off Against Balogh

Level 9 : Blinds 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Andras Balogh
Andras Balogh

Three-handed on a flop of 452, Rene Majed bet 5,000 from early position and was called by Finn Zwad in middle position, while big blind Andras Balogh also came along.

The turn was the K and Majed continued for 10,000. Zwad folded this time, but Balogh came back with an all-in shove. Majed only had around 12,500 remaining and tanked for a minute before taking out his phone and reluctantly calling as he began filming the action.

He showed 88, but Balogh had K10 for top pair. The K river improved Balogh to trips and sent Majed to the rail.

Zizka Upset by Kluzak

Level 8 : Blinds 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

On a heads-up flop of Q102, Zdenek Zizka checked and then jammed into a bet of 10,000 by table neighbour Josef Kluzak only to get snap-called.

Zdenek Zizka: 22
Josef Kluzak: QQ

Zizka was in dire shape and needed running spades for a chop or the case deuce to double, neither of which came with the 9 turn and 7 river to send Zizka to the rail.

Peng Eliminated in Three-Way Three-Bet Pot

Level 8 : Blinds 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Mahsum Aslan
Mahsum Aslan

Yi Zhan Peng, Mahsum Aslan, and Paulius Vaitiekunas were involved in a three-bet pot worth 40,000 chips. On the 8210 flop, Peng jammed all in for 28,600 from early position. Aslan thought for a minute or so before putting in the call with the covering stack and Vaitiekunas quickly mucked thereafter.

Yi Zhan Peng: JJ
Mahsum Aslan: 88

Peng was drawing slim against the flopped set of Aslan, and the 4 turn brought him no extra outs. The K river sealed his fate and he packed up his belongings.

"If you would've shoved pre you would've won," Vaitiekunas advised Peng while he was on his way to the exit.

Rosilllio Obtains Massive Stack as Rohde Can Not Let It Go

Level 8 : Blinds 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Hen Rosilio
Hen Rosilio

The action was caught when the board had already been completed, and it read 6KA8Q. Hen Rosilio then tanked for a few minutes in the big blind before the clock was called on him.

Before the floorman could come over, however, Rosilio decided to put his opponent Michael Rohde all-in for his last 65,000 chips. Rohde lamented his situation and took a few minutes of his own before finally putting in the call.

Rosilio showed AK for top two pair, while Rohde tried to muck his QJ for just a rivered pair of queens. However, the dealer retrieved as is mandatory for an all-in situation, and Rohde stormed off while Roslio crossed the half-million mark.

Rozhanovskyi Snaps Off Persson

Level 8 : Blinds 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Heads-up on a flop of 2410, Kalle Persson bet 8,000 from the button and Borys Rozhanovskyi called in the cutoff.

The turn came the 6 and Persson bet another 20,000. Rozhanovskyi again called and the 5 fell on the river.

Persson then moved all in for around 15,000 more and Rozhanovskyi practically beat him into the pot, showing K6 for a rivered flush. Persson showed AA before heading for the exit.

Day 1b chip leader Levan Rcheulishvili is also at this table and has slightly increased his chip stack so far today.

Philipp Zukernik
Philipp Zukernik

Wladimir Majer was all-in with a shorter stack and ahead in the following showdown against Philipp Zukernik.

Wladimir Majer: AJ
Philipp Zukernik: KQ

Majer made the top pair on the J82 flop but had a mighty sweat to endure on the 10 turn when Zukernik picked up straight outs to go with his two live cards. One of them came with the A river and Majer shook his head, snapped a picture of the "bad beat" before leaving the tournament area.

Petkov Cracks Eller's Aces on the River

Level 8 : Blinds 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Heads-up on a flop of 9J10 and already around 40,000 in the middle, Andreas Eller bet another 40,000 from under the gun and Lachezar Petkov called in the big blind.

The turn came the 5 and Eller moved all in for 51,000. Petkov gave the decision some thought before committing the chips, turning over 76 for straight and flush draws. Eller had AA and needed to hold on to survive.

The river brought the 4 and Petkov completed his flush to send Eller to the rail as he scooped up the massive pot.
