Unlucky Exit for Kovalchuk

Level 16 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Hacine Chatteur tossed in a T-25,000 chip from the button for a raise before Olekssi Kovalchuk three-bet jammed his final 85,000 in from the small blind. Chatteur took a while but eventually called.

Oleksii Kovalchuk: AK
Hacine Chatteur: A5

Kovalchuk got his phone out to film the affair, but little did he know he would end up filming his demise. The 5310 paired Chatteur up, and he would remain the only player doing so when the board ran out 4J.

Kovalchuk took his bad beat in good spirits and wished everyone good luck before leaving the table.

Gessis Gets There Against Kunze

Level 16 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Jean Gessis check-raised the KJ10 flop out of the small blind to 110,000 and Thore-Fabian Kunze called in the big blind, the third player in the hand folded.

Gessis then instantly bet the 4 turn for 150,000 with 19,000 behind. Kunze was shook and needed some thirty seconds before he shrugged, pushed in a stack worth 500,000 and Gessis called all-in.

Jean Gessis: A9
Thore-Fabian Kunze: Q6

Kunze had a single out for a straight flush to avoid a setback but the 4 river secured the double for Gessis.

"Good call preflop with the ace-nine off suit," Svajunas Seduikis said with a dry voice while Kunze then inquired whether or not his table neighbour had called a shove on the flop.

"I don't know," Gessis replied.

Cooler Spells the End for Peffly

Level 16 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Alex Peffly
Alex Peffly

Alex Peffly open-jammed for 97,000 chips from under the gun and the action folded to Vittorio Maugini in the hijack, who put in a three-bet to 175,000. The rest of the table folded, leading to a showdown.

Alex Peffly: QQ
Vittorio Maugini: AA

Peffly's tablemates were rooting for some spades to appear, but none came on the 343 flop. The 98 did not help the Brit either, and he was the latest to be eliminated from the Main Event.

Zuraikat Shows Al Labani the Nuts

Level 16 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

After an open in middle position, Hael Al Labani three-bet to 65,000 in the small blind and only Ramzi Zuraikat called in the big blind.

The flop came 510J and Al Labani continued for 30,000. Zuraikat then raised to 125,000.

"If you hadn't bet I would not bet. No, I don't have a flush draw," Zuraikat said as Al Labani tanked for several minutes.

"You have queens probably," Zuraikat told him.

"I call or go all in," Al Labani replied.

"All in is absolutely the right play. I have 390 remaining. You go all in and I drive back to Prague. Poker is an easy game," Zuraikat said.

Al Labani eventually folded. "Show ace-king," Zuraikat added, but Al Labani only flashed the A. Zuraikat showed him JJ for top set as he took the pot.

Robert Burlacu

Klas Krueger open-jammed for 164,000 and Robert Burlacu called all-in for fewer than that, all other players behind folded.

Robert Burlacu: AA

The 532106 board brought no upset and Krueger dropped to six blinds.

Claudiu Descultu was then all-in with a similar short stack and in trouble, holding the A3 against Jacob Amsellem, who revealed AK. Descultu spiked a trey on the J93A5 runout to double.

Moments later, Iman Ghashayar was spotted on the way out of the tournament area as his stack was pushed to Leon Sturm.

Level 16 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Lars Kamphues raised to 20,000 in early position before Kuljinder Sidhu moved all in for 260,000 next to act. The table folded around to big blind Alessandro Pagliuso and he stuck in his last 151,000, while Kamphues folded.

Alessandro Pagliuso: KK
Kuljinder Sidhu: 1010
