Matthias Gude Eliminated in 8th Place (€110,000)

Level 30 : Blinds 125,000/250,000, 250,000 ante
Matthias Gude
Matthias Gude

Murilo Garcia raised to 525,000 from under the gun and Catalin Pop folded the 88 thereafter. Matthias Gude then jammed in the cutoff for the last 2,875,000 after using one time bank and Garcia snap-called when it was his turn to act.

Matthias Gude: AQ All in
Murilo Garcia: KK

The K72 flop left Gude on the ropes in need of running cards. It was all over on the 5 turn to make the 9 river a formality and Gude grabbed his lucky charm before bumping fists with everyone. His run in eighth place comes with a payday of €110,000.

Level 31 : Blinds 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante
Catalin Pop
Catalin Pop

Catalin Pop raised to 1,000,000 in the hijack with the A7 and picked up the blinds to boost his stack to a mere eight blinds.

One hand later, Pop was in early position and repeated his opening sizing. Fellow short stack Teemu Jaatinen three-bet to 1,750,000 and then called when Pop jammed for 2,400,000.

Teemu Jaatinen: 1010

The board ran out Q42JJ and the pocket pair held to eliminate Pop in seventh place for €145,000.

Max Neugebauer Eliminated in 6th Place (€195,000)

Level 31 : Blinds 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante
Max Neugebauer
Max Neugebauer

One hand after the double for Claudio Di Giacomo, Gerald Karlic raised to 650,000 from under the gun and instantly called the shove by Max Neugebauer in the big blind for 4,500,000 total.

Max Neugebauer: A3 All in
Gerald Karlic: 99

Neugebauer had the exact same cards as the Italian and needed to come from behind as well to stay in contention. He picked up the lower end of the straight draw on the 764 flop, but the 8 turn took away some of his outs.

Nothing changed on the 4 river, and that spelled the end for 2023 WSOP Europe Main Event champion Neugebauer in sixth place for €195,000.

Level 31 : Blinds 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante
Claudio Di Giacomo

The action reached Gerald Karlic on the button, and the chip leader pushed all in against two short stacks. One of them was Claudio Di Giacomo, who was in the big blind and called for his last 4,325,000.

Claudio Di Giacomo: AJ All in
Gerald Karlic: K5

The 322 flop gave Karlic the flush draw to go with his two live cards. Nothing changed on the 10 turn, but the 7 on the river spelled the end for Di Giacomo in fifth place, having won his entry by taking down one of the many major tournaments throughout the year at King's Resort. For his efforts, the Italian earned a payday of €265,000.

Level 32 : Blinds 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante
Teemu Jaatinen

First to act, Teemu Jaatinen announced a raise to 2,000,000 with 1,200,000 behind and won the pot without resistance with his 88.

Up next, Jaatinen was in the big blind with the 94 and let go when Murilo Garcia opened to 1,000,000 with the QJ on the button.

Karlic raised the next button with the 75 to 850,000. Jaatinen was in the small blind and three-bet to 2,100,000 for more than half of his stack. Daniel Pidun reraised behind that in the big blind and Jaatinen called all-in for 3,400,000.

Teemu Jaatinen: A8 All in
Daniel Pidun: AJ

Pidun's kicker played on the AKQ26 runout, and that spelled the end for the Finnish qualifier for a staggering payday of €370,000.

Murilo Garcia Eliminated in 3rd Place (€525,000)

Level 32 : Blinds 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante
Murilo Garcia
Murilo Garcia

Daniel Pidun raised to 800,000 on the button with the A9 and Murilo Garcia three-bet to 3,000,000 out of the small blind holding the A3. Gerald Karlic in the big blind then four-bet small to 6,600,000 with 1010 and Pidun got out of the way.

Garcia then five-bet jammed after little consideration for massive 22,450,000 and Karlic vaulted out of his chair to gander at the stack at the other side of the table before making the call.

The 982 flop gave Garcia running clubs as possible outs and he made an inferior pair on the 3 turn. However, no further help came with the 7 river and the Brazilian went from near chip leader to third place finisher with a payday of €525,000 secured.

In the very next hand, Daniel Pidun opened on the button to 1,200,000, and Gerald Karlic three-bet to 4,200,000. The four-bet to 10,500,000 by Pidun followed, and Karlic then jammed for 31,000,000 to get snap-called by Pidun, shaking his head in disbelief about the cooler for the gold bracelet.

Gerald Karlic: JJ All in
Daniel Pidun: AA

Karlic had a sweat with the flush draw until the K10810 turn, while Pidun's rail shouted, "Hold one time!" and hold it did, thanks to the K on the river. Pidun jumped out of his chair in celebration and raised both arms in the air before embracing Karlic shortly thereafter.

The runner-up finish of Karlic was rewarded with a consolation prize of €757,000, while Pidun earned his first gold bracelet and the top prize of €1,140,000.
