Klabisch Gets Oz Steamed but Modoran the Beneficiary

A pot of 30,000 had developed by the turn on a board of K♦4♦J♦J♥, in a hand between Barak Oz and Karsten Knoebel in middle position, and Mariusz Klabisch on the button.

The dealer was in the process of sweeping chips from Oz and Knoebel into the middle, and Klabisch had just folded.

The K♣ hit on the river, and Klabisch jumped out of his chair exclaiming "Oh No!", in a huge poker etiquette faux pas.

The active players tried to proceed as normal, and Oz checked to Knoebel, who slid out a bet of 10,000. Oz showed his understandable frustration, saying to Klabsich "So you folded a king eh, you can't do this man, this is bad".

Klabisch was apologetic, saying "Sorry, I know, sorry, I'm emotional, look at my stack", gesturing to his sub 20,000 stack. "That doesn't help me", responded Oz.

Oz chucked in calling chips reluctantly, and his mood only darkened when Knoebel showed Q♣J♣ for the low full house, beating Oz's A♦9♦ for the flopped nut flush, his cards slammed down face-up onto the table in anger.

The floor had appeared, and Oz asked for a ruling. The floor went to check with the tournament director, and in the meantime, Oz opened to 1,000 from early position.

Action folded to Adrian Modoran on the button, who produced a three-bet to 3,500. Oz pumped it up again to 16,000, and called off for his 65,000 total stack versus a five-bet jam from Modoran.

In a brutal turn of events, Oz had run into aces, and there was no escape despite flopping top pair on the Q♥7♠6♣5♣9♠ runout.

Oz was fuming, and the floor came back and gave Klabisch a stern warning as to his conduct, while Oz stormed off from the tournament area.

Hovhannes Asatrjan opened to 1,000 from under the gun and he was called by both players in the blinds.

The dealer fanned a flop of A♦Q♣9♥ and Asatrjan continued for 1,200. Pierre Calamusa in the small blind check-folded, but Krasimir Yankov in the big blind check-called.

Asatrjan continued for 4,000 on the 7♦ turn and was called, but both players checked the 9♣ river.

Yankov had A♣2♦ and Asatrjan had A♠8♠, so they split the pot.

Alexandros Kolonias opened to 1,100 from early position and got called by Pascal Pflock in the small blind & Axel Rank in the big blind.

They went to a flop of 7♣10♥6♦, where it checked to Kolonias, who bet 2,000. Pflock folded, and Rank called to see the K♠ hit the turn. After Rank checked, Kolonias bet 6,000, and Rank again called.

Both checked the 10♦ river and Rank flipped J♠J♦ for a pair of jacks at showdown, which were good for the pot as Kolonias mucked.

With roughly 10,000 in the middle already on a board of 7♥6♥5♥J♣, Alexandru Moraru checked from the big blind and Ferdinando D'alessio bet 8,000 from early position. Moraru thought about it for a while before making the call.

A 4♦ completed the board and both players quickly checked. Moraru turned over a flopped straight with 9♠8♠ and D'alessio mucked his cards.

The action was picked up on a board of 3♥5♥6♣2♥ with already 28,500 in the pot. Georgios Tsouloftas under the gun bet 12,000 and he was called by Ercan Yildiz in the small blind.

The J♦ completed the board and after Yildiz checked, Tsouloftas bet 33,000.

Yildiz went into the tank for more than two minutes, but eventually folded Q♦Q♣ face up.

"You show one card?" he asked Tsouloftas who answered "No, no, no." "Too much," then said Yildiz a few times while Tsouloftas was pulling the pot towards him.
