Event #14: €10,350 MAIN EVENT No-Limit Hold'em European Championship
Day 1a Started
The biggest stage in European poker is set. Today at King’s Resort in Rozvadov, the 2025 World Series of Poker Europe Main Event begins. With a buy-in of €10,350, a guaranteed prize pool of €6,000,000, and the most coveted bracelet on the continent up for grabs, it stands as the pinnacle of the European poker calendar.
Last year, Italy’s Simone Andrian outlasted a star-studded field of 768 entries to capture €1,300,000 and etch his name into poker history. This year, another champion will be crowned, and the road to glory begins with two starting flights, Day 1a on Friday and Day 1b on Saturday.

Players begin the marathon with 100,000 chips and 90-minute levels, a structure that will test patience, stamina, and skill. After every level there is a 15-minute break and a 60-minute dinner break after Level 4. With late registration open until the end of Level 12, five levels into Day 2, the field is expected to swell as Europe’s finest along with international stars make their push for the ultimate prize.
Over the next five days, the WSOPE Main Event will decide not just who takes home life-changing money, but who will be remembered forever as the 16th champion of Europe’s grandest tournament.

On a flop of 10♣7♠2♠ with around 2,000 in the middle, Denys Panchenko checked the small blind and Tobias Eckl bet 700,000 from the cutoff. Fahredin Mustafov raised to 2,900 on the button, which got Panchenko to fold. Eckl called.
When the Q♠ dropped on the turn, Eckl checked and then folded to a bet of 8,000 from Mustafov.

After a lot of raising back and forth between Vikrant Mangal in the small blind and Juan Velasco out of the big blind, the two players got their stacks into the middle and the cards were revealed.
Vikrant Mangal: A♠A♥
Juan Velasco: A♣K♥
Mangal had slightly fewer chips than Velasco, so he was the one at risk, although he found himself in a perfect spot with aces versus the ace-king of Velasco.
Velasco was drawing by the turn on the 3♦7♦J♥9♦6♦ runout, and after the stacks were counted, Velasco was left with around 3,000.
The next hand, Velasco jammed from the small blind and Alexandru Moraru called out of the big blind.
Juan Velasco: K♠2♦
Alexandru Moraru: A♣5♥
Moraru was slightly ahead, but Velasco had two live cards working for him. A flop of A♠3♦J♥ proved unfavorable for Velasco as Moraru hit top pair, and Velasco needed running cards to survive. He picked up a straight draw on the Q♥ turn, but bricked it when the 9♦ completed the board.
The pot went over to Moraru, and after just a few hands, Velasco was the first elimination of the 2025 WSOPE Main Event.

Srdan Martonoski made it 800 from the hijack with Simon Wilson calling out of the small blind and Gregor Daniel defending his big blind.
Once it checked to Martonoski on the 10♣Q♦9♥ flop, he fired out a bet of 1,500. Wilson called, but Daniel folded.
Wilson checked for a second time on the 6♦ river and Martonoski placed out a second bet, this time for 5,000. Wilson took a few moments before making the call again.
The 5♠ river checked through and Martonoski took down the pot with Q♠J♣ for a pair of queens.
