Level 27 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Hans Thumann
Hans Thumann

Lukas Timko opened to 100,000 from the button, and Hans Thumann defended the big blind.

On the K62 flop, Thumann check-called in the face of a continuation bet of 85,000 from Timko.

The 2 turn was checked to the 5 river, where Thumann checked once more. Timko fired out a pot-sized bet of 430,000, and Thumann went into the tank.

After using two timebanks, suddenly he made the call. Timko tabled A7 for ace-high, and Thumann had found the call with 53, his gutshot improving to a rivered two pair, fives and twos.

Thumann earnt the praise of Robert Zipf and Fabio Peluso, who congratulated him on the call, "True professional", said Zipf.

Thumann stacked up a nice pot, his hands starting to shake from the adrenaline coursing through his body.

Giorgio Silva opened from the hijack and Dorian Melchers shoved the big blind for almost 800,000. Silva had around 700,000 in his stack and quickly called, which left him at risk.

Giorgio Silva: AQ All in
Dorian Melchers: 66

Both players were in a crucial flip, and it was the sixes of Melchers that stayed in front through the 1042 flop. A J turn gave Silva some extra outs with a Broadway draw, but the 8 river bricked out, leaving him on the rail.
