Frey Finds a Miracle on the River

Level 22 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Daniel Frey
Daniel Frey

Daniel Frey raised to 30,000 in the cutoff, Tjan Tepeh three-bet to 80,000 on the button, and Frey called.

The flop came KQ6 and Tepeh bet 40,000. Frey called and the 8 fell on the turn.

Tepeh then bet 70,000, Frey moved all in for 330,000, and Tepeh snap-called. Tepeh turned over AA, while Frey could only show KJ for a pair of kings and was already up from his seat and putting on his jacket going to the river.

The dealer turned over the J and Frey loudly clapped his hands together as he made two pair to crack Tepeh's aces and earn him a fortunate double up. He stopped to snap a photo of the board while Tepeh cut out the chips to pay him off.

Maricuta Doubles Through Wang

Level 22 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Dan Maricuta
Dan Maricuta

Dan Maricuta flipped for his last 225,000 with 66 against the AJ of Yuhan Wang. On a board of 1010783, Maricuta survived and then bumped fists with his table neighbour Oleh Okhotskyi.

Tsyhryk Leaves it Late to Stack Jobst

Level 22 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Maksym Tsyhryk
Maksym Tsyhryk

Maksym Tsyhryk opened to 40,000 from middle position and Benno Jobst three-bet the cutoff to 110,000, playing a stack of around 300,000. When the action got back to Tsyhryk, he ripped in his stack of around 350,000, and Jobst took some time before he called, leaving him at risk.

Benno Jobst: 99 All in
Maksym Tsyhryk: AQ

It was a classic flip, and one that Jobst would have felt more confident about after seeing the 468 flop. A J on the turn would have boosted those confidence levels a little more, but the Q on the river was a dagger in the heart as Tsyhryk paired his queen, ending the run of Jobst.

Updated Chip Counts

Level 22 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

Salerno Spikes a Ten to Double Through Roman

Level 22 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

The action folded around to Elia Salerno in the small blind, who shoved for around 170,000. Bogdan Roman was in the big blind with a stack of around 270,000, and after some time, he called.

Elia Salerno: Q10 All in
Bogdan Roman: A6

Roman had made the right call, but the K102 flop seemed like he was going to be punished for it as Salerno paired his ten. A runout of 95 changed nothing, and Salerno raked in the pot.

Bognannia's Pair is Smaller than Fetsch's

Level 22 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Alexander Fetsch
Alexander Fetsch

Alexander Fetsch opened the button to 35,000 before Marco Bognanni jammed 285,000 out of the small blind. Fetsch thought it over for a while and then made the call to put Bognanni at risk.

Marco Bognanni: 55 All in
Alexander Fetsch: 77

Bognanni needed to find a five to stay in the tournament and double up. However, there was no five on the 34493 runout, and Bognanni headed to the rail.

Tepeh, He Score Knockouts

Level 22 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Tjan Tepeh
Tjan Tepeh

Tjan Tepeh raised to 30,000 under the gun before Renato Ardelean moved all in for 245,000 in the hijack. Tepeh took a minute and eventually called to put Ardelean at risk.

Renato Ardelean: AQ All in
Tjan Tepeh: AJ

Ardelean had Tepeh dominated until the AJ4 flop gave Tepeh two pair. The J turn improved him to a full house, and Ardelean was drawing only to a chop as the 6 completed the board on the river to send him to the rail.

At another table, Dong He had a raise of 75,000 in front of him from the hijack and Mantas Stravinskas moved all in for 260,000 in middle position. He called.

Mantas Stravinskas: 1010 All in
Dong He: JJ

He spiked a set on the AJ8 flop, while Stravinskas picked up a straight draw on the Q turn. The 7 river was no help to Stravinskas as he joined Ardelean at the payout desk.

Elias Eliminated by Sharabi

Level 22 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Shalom Sharabi
Shalom Sharabi

Sali Elias got a short stack into the middle with the A6 and had a kicker problem when facing Shalom Sharabi on the other side of the dealer with the latter revealing the AQ. Neither player connected with the J104 flop and 10 turn. The river was another blank and that spelled the end for Elias shortly after the break.

Oliveira Falls to Alwatik

Level 22 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

Felipe Oliveira shoved from under the gun for 105,000 and Mouaad Alwatik reshoved around 450,000 from the hijack.

Felipe Oliveira: 65 All in
Mouaad Alwatik: JJ

It was a tall order for Oliveira to survive, and the Q710 flop didn't offer him much hope. An 8 on the turn did give him an open-ender, but the 6 river wasn't enough to save him from the rail.
