Frey Finds a Miracle on the River

Daniel Frey raised to 30,000 in the cutoff, Tjan Tepeh three-bet to 80,000 on the button, and Frey called.

The flop came K♣Q♦6♥ and Tepeh bet 40,000. Frey called and the 8♠ fell on the turn.

Tepeh then bet 70,000, Frey moved all in for 330,000, and Tepeh snap-called. Tepeh turned over A♠A♣, while Frey could only show K♦J♦ for a pair of kings and was already up from his seat and putting on his jacket going to the river.

The dealer turned over the J♣ and Frey loudly clapped his hands together as he made two pair to crack Tepeh's aces and earn him a fortunate double up. He stopped to snap a photo of the board while Tepeh cut out the chips to pay him off.

Maksym Tsyhryk opened to 40,000 from middle position and Benno Jobst three-bet the cutoff to 110,000, playing a stack of around 300,000. When the action got back to Tsyhryk, he ripped in his stack of around 350,000, and Jobst took some time before he called, leaving him at risk.

It was a classic flip, and one that Jobst would have felt more confident about after seeing the 4♦6♥8♦ flop. A J♠ on the turn would have boosted those confidence levels a little more, but the Q♥ on the river was a dagger in the heart as Tsyhryk paired his queen, ending the run of Jobst.
