Spoddig Finishes Off Stefanelli

Level 18 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Bruno Stefanelli put in the rest of his 20,000 from under the gun as Scott Reynolds and Jan Spoddig came along from the blinds.

Reynolds and Spoddig checked down the 582J9 board. Reynolds showed KQ, Stefanelli had A6, but Spoddig turned over A7 and won the pot with his seven-kicker to send Stefanelli to the rail two spots off the money.

Big Double on the Bubble For Vrancsik

Level 18 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Giovanni Giudice from early position and Zoltan Vrancsik in middle position had got to the river on a board of 10422K with around 450,000 in the pot.

Giudice took some time before he shoved, and Vrancsik snap-called for his stack of 725,000, before revealing KK for a rivered full house. Giudice couldn't beat that and his cards went into the muck, then he counted out the chips and shipped them over to his opponent.

Play Going Hand-For-Hand

Level 18 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

With the field two spots from the money, play has ground to a halt since returning from break, with nearly every hand at all the tables taking several minutes.

Due to the excessive stalling, tournament officials announced that action is going hand-for-hand until there are two more eliminations.

Stefanelli Left With Crumbs

Level 18 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Jan Spoddig shoved for 260,000 from the small blind and Bruno Stefanelli called from the big blind with a slightly covering stack.

Bruno Stefanelli: AK

Spoddig was caught red-handed, but did have live cards to fall back on. One of those appeared on the 8QJ flop, and his situation improved on the 5 turn as he picked up a flush draw, which removed some of Stefanelli's outs.

A 6 on the river gave Spoddig a flush and the double-up, leaving Stefanelli with just 20,000 after he folded the small blind in the next hand.

Sklenicka Doesn't Get His Wish

Level 17 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Georgios Tsouloftas raised to 40,000 in middle position and Michael Sklenicka three-bet to 235,000 on the button. Tsouloftas then moved all in, and Sklenicka quickly called for around 200,000 more.

"Queen of diamonds," Sklenicka told the dealer, pointing to his own queen. He instead got A52 as Tsouloftas hit top pair. Sklenicka was left drawing dead after the 2 turn, while the river was the K and he was sent to the rail a few spots off the money.
