Mike Watson opened in the cutoff to 400,000 and Christian Pedersen on the button three-bet to 1,100,000. Action folded back to Watson, who used one time bank card before announcing all in. Pedersen double-checked his cards before making the call, sending the cards on their backs.
Christian Pedersen: K♠K♣
Mike Watson: Q♠Q♣
The board ran out 3♣6♣8♣A♣2♠, giving both players a flush, but Pedersen had the higher one and doubled into the chip lead.
One hand later, Watson raised to 1,400,000 in the hijack, leaving himself around 400,000 behind. Action folded to Zackary Estes in the big blind, who moved all in, and Watson made the call for his tournament life.
Mike Watson: A♠9♦
Zackary Estes: A♥10♥
No help arrived on the board K♣Q♣7♣6♦4♠, and Watson was sent to the rail.
Christian Pedersen opened to 400,000 from the hijack and Aliaksei Boika called from the big blind. The latter check-folded to a bet of 300,000 on the 9♦5♦5♣ flop.
Pedersen then raised to 400,000 the following hand, but folded when Punnat Punsri raised to 2,000,000 from the next seat over.
Aliaksei Boika made it 400,000 from the cutoff and Pedersen defended his big blind. On the 5♥3♠2♦ flop, Pedersen led out for 200,000 and was called. The chip leader sized up to 1,600,000 on the 10♦ turn, and folded out Boika.
Play folded to Mario Diaz Quilez on the button, who raised to 1,500,000. Christian Pedersen in the small blind asked for a count, and after confirming Quilez had around 3,000,000 behind, he announced all in. The big blind got out of the way and Quilez made the call.
Mario Diaz Quilez: K♠J♠
Christian Pedersen: A♥8♥
Pedersen hit top pair on the 8♠A♣2♥ flop, leaving Quilez with little room to improve.
The 3♦ turn sealed it already, and the 10♦ river was just a formality. Quilez was sent packing while Pedersen added further to his chip lead stack.
Christian Pedersen opened to 400,000 from the hijack before Punnat Punsri three-bet to 975,000 from the cutoff. Miroslav Alilovic four-bet jammed for 2,700,000 from the button and recieved two quick folds.
On the next deal, Aliaksei Boika limped in from the small blind and Christian Pedersen checked his option in the big blind.
Boika bet 200,000 on the A♠K♦5♦ flop and was called. The Q♣ turn checked through to the A♣ river. Boika check-called a bet of 650,000 and then mucked his hand when he saw Pedersen tabled K♥9♦ for aces and kings.
Action folded to the blinds where Punnat Punsri raised to 550,000 and Miroslav Alilovic made the call.
Both players checked the 9♦6♠8♠ flop.
Punsri led the 9♠ turn for 450,000 and Alilovic made the call.
When the 7♠ completed the board, Punsri fired another 400,000 and after thinking it over, Alilovic called. Punsri tabled J♠5♠ for a straight flush and scooped the pot.
Christian Pedersen opened to 400,000 from the cutoff but folded when Punnat Punsri made it 1,100,000 from the button.
Zackary Estes limped in from the small blind and Aliaksei Boika checked his option in the big blind. The Q♠J♥7♦ flop checked through to the A♣ turn. Estes bet 200,000 and was called. On the Q♥ river, Estes used a time extension before check-calling a bet of 650,000.
Boika tabled K♣10♣ for Broadway, reducing Estes to 3,700,000.
On the very next hand, Estes moved all in. Boika went deep into the tank, using two time banks while keeping a close eye on chip leader Christian Pedersen in the big blind. Boika eventually folded and immediately breathed a sigh of relief as Pedersen snap-called behind him.
Zackary Estes: A♥10♥
Christian Pedersen: J♥J♣
Boika revealed he had folded ace-nine suited before the runout and was extremely pleased with his decision.
The 9♠8♠4♣ flop left Estes trailing Pedersen's jacks, though he picked up additional outs after pairing his ten on the 10♣ turn. Estes, a cash game player competing in his first WSOP festival, was eliminated in fifth place after the 3♣ river.
With four players left, Christian Pedersen was first to act and, covering all three opponents, moved all in. Miroslav Alilovic made the call and the hand went to showdown.
Miroslav Alilovic: J♥J♦
Christian Pedersen: Q♥10♥
Alilovic’s hand held all the way through on a board of 4♠8♥10♠7♣A♠, allowing him to double up to around 3,000,000.
In the very next hand, Pedersen struck back as the two clashed again in a roughly 2,000,000 pot on a board of 2♥6♠7♦9♦J♣. Alilovic opted not to call the 3,000,000 river-bet from Pedersen and conceded the pot.
