River Bet Takes It for Chen

Level 8 : Blinds 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

The pot was around 70,000 with the board showing K653. James Chen in the small blind checked to Umberto Ruggeri in early position, who checked back.

The 4 completed the board. Chen led out for 40,000, and Ruggeri went into the tank, burning through two time bank cards before making the call. Chen tabled KQ for a pair of kings, and Ruggeri quickly mucked, conceding the pot.

Deeb Doesn’t Get There

Level 9 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Shaun Deeb
Shaun Deeb

Shaun Deeb opened from the hijack to 6,000 and picked up two callers, Landon Tice on the button and Andy Tsai in the big blind.

All three players checked the 7QK flop.

On the 3 turn, Deeb bet 20,000. Tice folded, but Tsai check-raised all in for 70,500. Deeb snap-called.

Tsai showed K9, while Deeb tabled 54. “Oh, so you have ‘I’ll get there cards’,” Tice joked after they had already been chatting for a few minutes.

The river came 8, with no help for Deeb, and Tsai doubled up. “But not this time,” Tice said with a grin.

Leah Calls It Down

Level 9 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

The pot was around 18,500 with the flop showing J9J. Michael Leah, in the big blind, checked to Ting-Yi Tsai on the button, who bet 6,000. Leah responded with a raise to 18,000, and Tsai made the call.

Leah kept up the pressure on the 3 turn with a bet of 27,500, and Tsai called again.

When the 10 hit the river, Leah checked. Tsai took a moment before moving all in. Leah counted his stack and, once done, made the call, sending the hand to showdown. Tsai tabled AQ for ace high with the board pair, while Leah showed K9 for two pair, enough to win the pot.
“Huh, nice call,” Tsai said.

Biao Ding
Biao Ding

Biao Ding kicked things off from the cutoff with a raise to 6,500 and picked up both blinds as callers.

The blinds checked the 6KA flop, and Ding continued for 5,500. Leonard Maue then check-raised to 20,000, which got Kasperi Ilkka to fold. Ding called.

On the 8 turn, Maue fired 42,000, and Ding stuck around to see the A river.

Maue checked, and Ding slid in his stack of green chips for around 225,000, putting Maue all in for his remaining 122,000. Maue eventually mucked, and Ding asked, “Not a good river for you?” Maue just shrugged in response.
