It looks like Chad Brown's the only player with a stack to rival Dario Alioto's at this early stage, although we're still not even at compulsory-cash-in-of-lammers stage yet (end of Level 4). With no further buy-ins being accepted the players still in contention are the full complement of bracelet competitors in this event.
World Series of Poker Europe 2010
This is a very famous field, on the whole - a sea of sharks with nary a fish for them to fight over.
With so many fearsome tables, it's quite difficult to assign one the title of Table Of Death - they're all pretty deathly as far as we can see. Nevertheless we have made our choice, and it is Table 23.
Seriously, check this out:
Seat 1: Frank Kassela - 2010 WSOP Player of the Year
Seat 2: Joe Beevers - Hendon Mobster and all-round legend
Seat 3: Aarno Kivelio - finalled this event last year
Seat 4: Jeff Lisandro - 2009 WSOP Player of the Year
Seat 5: Ted Lawson - 2004 WSOP $5,000 PLO bracelet winner
Seat 6: Dave "Devilfish" Ulliott - his accomplishments need no introduction
Seat 7: Samuel Stein - finished 10th in this year's WSOP $10,000 PLH
Seat 8: Marty Smyth - 2007 Irish Open champion and 2009 WSOP $5,000 PLO bracelet winner
Seat 9: Hoyt Corkins - whose many poker achievements go back to a day when many of us were not even alive
Attention, all you pretenders out there! This is what a real Table Of Death looks like.
Tom Dwan never made the million-dollar-side-bet-comeba ck he was craving as he was just eliminated in a pot that probably ranks as the largest so far. He raised and then called Hans Ari Varsi's three-bet along with Dario Alioto in the SB. The flop came

and Alioto took up the reigns with a 2,450 bet. Dwan moved all-in and so did Varsi for 6,200 which was enough to cover Dwan. Alioto made a quick call to create a three-way showdown:
Dwan:

for middle set.
Varsi:

for over-pair and flush draw.
Alioto:

for straight draw and backdoor flush draw.
The turn came
and river
to make the Italian's straight. Dwan was eliminated and Varsi has to cash in his last lanner. Alioto, who won this event in 2007, is our current chip leader with 33,000(3 lanners still to cash in).
These ones from the three tables downstairs. More to follow.
Tom Dwan's stack has taken a small step back in the right direction after taking a pot off Eric Dalby. The turn was out by the time we reached the action action and both players checked to leave the final board as

. Dalby led for 350 and Dwan made the quick call. Dalby flashed the
but soon mucked when Dwan tabled

for the small pot. He's on 5,000 now.
Just before the break, Tom "durrrr" Dwan had a a bit of an accident. We didn't catch the action, but we saw all of his playable chips disappearing into the stack of Ben Grundy, and the Team Full Tilt legend was down to his last 4k lammer, which was soon converted into tournament chips.
Grundy's day is getting better and better, though - he's at 23,000.
The end of the break brings level three and is also the time when registration closed. The information we're receiving at the moment is that the final number is 121 players. If that turns out to be wrong we'll let you know.
Level: 3
Blinds: 50/100
Ante: 0
It's time to pour out into Leicester Square and peer at Zac Efron who we understand will be at the cinema next door for a premiere around about now. I'm sure that will be of great interest to all the poker players.
Anette Obrestad doesn’t like to fold and PLO gives you a lot of opportunities to hang around in hands so it seems like a good match-up to me. She opened the last pot she played with a raise to 200 from UTG only to face a re-raise to 675 from Gaven Cochrane in the SB. She called to see a

flop where she called a 575 c-bet. The turn came
and she was going nowhere after Cochrane bet 1,000. The call came before the river fell
. Cochrane finally worked out the diminutive Norwegian wasn't going to be budged and he check-folded to a bet. Obrestad up to 19,000.
