The at-risk player had flopped a double gutshot straight draw, though a six wouldn't help him. That's because Leecy had called with a superior ace that meant a six would give him a bigger straight. The straight talk proved to be a moot point as neither the turn nor river changed a thing.
With that, Leecy's strong call earned him a big pot.
The player on the button opened for 1,800 and Minnesota's Ian Matakis called from the small blind. Taylor Hale came along from the big blind and it was three-way action to the flop. Two checks saw the button continue for 3,500, Matakis called, and Hale got out of the way.
After the dealer burned and turned the , action went check-check and the completed the board on the river putting out four to a straight.
Matakis led out for 4,500 and that's all it took as his opponent gave up on the hand.
Matt Glantz raised to 1,200 from the hijack and the player on the button called. Terry Fleischer came along from the big blind and the trio watched the flop come down .
Two checks saw the player on the button bet 1,000, Fleischer called, and Glantz got out of the way.
When the appeared on the turn, Fleischer shifted gears and led out for 3,000. That did the trick as the player on the button released.
