Mallol Finished

Level 23 : 15,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Antonio Mallol had a micro-stack and got it in with {j-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} against the {a-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} of Ray Qartomy. The {k-Spades}{q-Spades}{q-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} board improved neither player, so Qartomy took it with ace-high.

Mandavia Outlasts Stewart

Level 23 : 15,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
Scott Stewart

Ankush Mandavia three-bet shoved nearly all of his chips button versus under the gun, with Ray Qartomy having opened. Qartomy put in a call worth 320,000 and they took a {9-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{10-Spades} flop. Qartomy put the last crumbs in but Mandavia, seeing an all-in develop at the other table, began tanking.

At that table, Scott Stewart had put in all but his last crumbs, 275,000, and Sung Hyun called. That flop came {2-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{8-Hearts} and Stewart began tanking.

Eventually, the tournament director put Mandavia on a clock and said he was counting these situations as the same hand. Mandavia called with {k-Clubs}{q-Spades} and was a bit behind the {a-Hearts}{7-Hearts} of Qartomy. However, he hit running two pair.

Stewart was less lucky. He was ahead with {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds} against {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} but the board ran {j-Hearts}, {7-Hearts} to make Hyun a straight.

Right after that, Erik Cajelais joined them in line.

Van Blarcum Can't Find a Second Dub, Busts to Liu

Level 23 : 15,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Aaron Van Blarcum doubled up with {k-Spades}{q-Spades} against the {q-Hearts}{10-Hearts} of neighbor Qing Liu but he only had about 200,000 still. He got that in from the small blind with {q-Hearts}{10-Clubs} but was behind Liu's {k-}{j-}.

Liu paired his king on the flop and faded the backdoor straight draw Van Blarcum turned to bust him.

Polop Doubles Through Stewart

Level 23 : 15,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Scott Stewart raised, David Cabrera Polop three-bet in the cutoff, and Stewart shoved. Polop snap-called with {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds} and was slightly ahead of Stewart's {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}. The {10-Spades}{8-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} brought nothing for Stewart, who sent over 775,000.

Mallol Doubles Through Mandavia

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Antonio Mallol shoved under the gun for 240,000 and Ankush Mandavia had him at risk with {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs} in the small blind. Mallol had {7-Spades}{7-Clubs} and managed to fade Mandavia on a {5-Spades}{6-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} board.

At another table, Thong Tran wasn't so lucky and busted to Sung Hyun.

Stewart Doubles Through Song

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Kevin Song bet 90,000 in the small blind on a board of {4-Clubs}{6-Spades}{7-Hearts}{9-Hearts} and Scott Stewart shoved all in for 305,000. Song tanked a long time then called with {j-Clubs}{7-Clubs}.

Stewart had sucked out on the turn with {9-Spades}{7-Spades} and was in great shape to double. The {10-Spades} was a safe card for him.
