Level 3 : 200/300, 300 ante
Chance Kornuth
Chance Kornuth

Chance Kornuth bet 1,000 from early position on {q-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} and the cutoff made it 3,000. The next player cold-called and Kornuth tanked awhile before calling. Everyone checked the {6-Diamonds}, bringing a {7-Clubs} river. Kornuth bet huge with 15,000. The cutoff called without much delay, and the other player quickly folded.

Kornuth showed {8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} for a straight.

Trivett's Jacks Hold

Level 3 : 200/300, 300 ante

Ray Qartomy opened for 800, in the hijack, a player on the button made it 2,500, and Michael Trivett cold-called in the small blind. Action checked to the button on {4-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} and the player there bet 2,000. Only Trivett continued. The {10-Clubs} and {k-Hearts} were checked through and Trivett revealed {j-Spades}{j-Hearts} to take the pot.

Cristos Bets Big and Folds

Level 3 : 200/300, 300 ante

On an {8-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{7-Hearts} flop, Jordan Cristos made a pot-sized wager of 4,500 in middle position only to see the small blind put in a sizable check-raise to 15,000. Cristos grabbed some chips as if to call but then thought better of it and mucked.

Cristos is looking to keep his hot run going after he chopped an event last month here in Vegas for $119K.

"I Thought I Played it Pretty Good"

Level 2 : 100/200, 200 ante

On a completed board of {7-Spades}{9-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{6-Diamonds}, Mike Dentale bet 5,000 from the button into a pot of about 15,000. His opponent in the small blind slid in a call and Dentale tabled {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs} for top pair.

His opponent gestured in irritation and mucked {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} face up. She said something we didn't hear to Dentale.

"They were running out of two-outers so they had to give me one," he said. "I thought I played it pretty good."

Boland Gets River Bet Through

Level 2 : 100/200, 200 ante

The blinds checked to the button on a {9-Clubs}{k-Spades}{6-Clubs} flop and the player there bet 500. The small blind called but Sean Boland made it 2,500 on a check-raise out of the big. Only the initial bettor called, and the turn brought the {9-Diamonds}. Boland bet 6,500 and received another call, so they went to the {j-Clubs} river. Boland barreled a final time for 8,500 and his opponent stared him down briefly before folding.

Riess Loses Out on River Value

Level 2 : 100/200, 200 ante
Ryan Riess
Ryan Riess

Ryan Riess was in the big blind and checked a {3-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{5-Clubs} flop. An opponent in early position bet an unknown amount with a T1,000 chip and Riess check-raised to 2,000. His opponent quickly called, bringing the {8-Diamonds} turn. Riess bet big with 6,000, and his opponent tanked a long time before calling.

On the {7-Clubs} river, both players checked. Riess flicked in {3-Spades}{3-Clubs} for a set and his opponent grumbled and mucked {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}.

Phan Running Hot

Level 2 : 100/200, 200 ante

Several notable players have joined the action here, including the likes of former WSOP champ Ryan Riess and high roller extraordinaire Ali Imsirovic.

They'll be hard-pressed to keep up with the pace set by Tuan Phan early, though, as he has about three starting stacks already. Phan is coming off a second-place run in the long-delayed WPT Gardens Poker Championship, finishing second for $359K more than a year after the tournament was initially played.
