Pillai Secures Double

Level 25 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Shankar Pillai
Shankar Pillai

Yonnas Abate opened to 110,000 in the hijack and Shankar Pillai moved in almost all of his approximately 650,000 chips on the button, leaving just a single pink T-5,000 chip behind. Action folded back to the Abate who called.

The duo checked the {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} flop to the {4-Spades} turn, and Abate check-called for Pillai's remaining chip.

Shankar Pillai: {7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}
Yonnas Abate: {k-Diamonds}{q-Spades}

Pillai was ahead, and the {a-Hearts} river kept him in front to secure the double.

Shorr Sent Away

Level 25 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Shannon Shorr was seen getting up and leaving the table as it appeared as though the rest of his stack had been swallowed up by Nicolas Plantin who was stacking Shorr's chips.

Seeing the Light

Level 25 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

There was a quick jam and snap-call on a board reading {q-Spades}{7-Spades}{4-Clubs}{q-Clubs}. Roscoe Light tabled the {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts} for the full boat which was crushing the {q-}{9-} of Osman Ilhamur who threw his head back in disgust.

The river came the {8-Diamonds} and Ilhamur was busted and Light gathered the massive pot.

Wong Is Gone

Level 25 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Quang Vu
Quang Vu

Danny Wong kept doubling to stay alive but eventually his luck had to run out. Wong moved all in for 660,000 from under the gun and was called by Quang Vu in middle position. The remaining players got out of the way and Wong was at risk.

Danny Wong: {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}
Quang Vu: {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}

Wong, though behind, did have two live cards. He was unable to hit, however, on the {6-Spades}{9-Spades}{2-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{10-Spades} runout, bringing his tournament to a close.

State Stacking

Level 25 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Adrian State got it in on a flop of {a-}{q-}{9-} as he held the {a-}{k-} while his opponent was drawing thin with the {a-}{10-}.

The turn was the {j-} and the river the {6-} to give State another bounty and more chips.

Wong Doubles Again

Level 24 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Danny Wong has been short stacked for much of the day, hampering his ability to collect bounties but perhaps giving him slightly more favourable matchups when he has found himself all in and at risk. A player opened from under the gun and Danny Wong moved all in from the cutoff. Action folded back around to the initial raiser who made the call to put Wong at risk.

Danny Wong: {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}
Under the Gun Player: {a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}

Wong was locked in an even race and held on the {10-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{9-Spades}{k-Clubs} runout to survive and move up the chip counts.

Marder Felts Another One

Level 24 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

A player in early position moved all in for 480,000 and Michael Marder called in the cutoff.

Early Position Player: {a-Spades}{6-Hearts}
Michael Marder: {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}

Marder was in a good spot to score the knockout and get another chance to pull $100,000. The {5-Spades}{3-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} runout kept him ahead as his opponent vacated the tournament area.

Kamel Loses Big One To Light

Level 24 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Tamer Kamel
Tamer Kamel

Tamer Kamel opened to 85,000 from middle position and was called by Roscoe Light in the small blind as well as a player out of the big blind.

Both blinds checked to Kamel on the {5-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{9-Spades} flop and he continued for 100,000. Light responded with a raise to 435,000, getting a fold from the big blind but a call from Kamel.

Light checked after the {7-Clubs} turn and then snap called when Kamel moved all in.

Roscoe Light: {a-Spades}{8-Spades}
Tamer Kamel: {9-Diamonds}{7-Spades}

Light was in great shape to score the double, needing to fade sevens and nines heading to the river. He did just that after the {q-Spades} rolled off the deck to improve Light to the nut flush.
