Van Zadelhoff Gets a Fold

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante

A player raised to 1,700 from under the gun and action folded around to Steven van Zadelhoff in the small blind, who called, as did the big blind.

Action quickly checked through the {a-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} flop to the {3-Clubs} turn. Van Zadelhoff then led out for 2,000, getting the big blind to fold but receiving a call from the preflop raiser.

On the {q-Diamonds} river, just as van Zadelhoff was about to bet, it appeared as if the under the gun player checked out of turn. Regardless, van Zadelhoff fired off 10,000, which was met by a snap fold.

Shylko Put in Tough Spot

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante
Aliaksandr Shylko
Aliaksandr Shylko

On a board reading {j-Clubs}{2-Spades}{q-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{j-Spades} Aliaksandr Shylko out of the small blind was involved in a pot with a player in the big blind. Shylko bet out 13,00 into a pot of 17,600 and his opponent, who had Shylko covered, responded by raising all in. Shylko, with roughly 18,000 behind, went into the tank. As he was thinking he apologised to the table for the length of time it was taking him to make a decision.

Eventually Shylko made the call for his tournament life and turned over {j-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} for rivered trips. His opponent attempted to muck his holding but owing to the fact that Shylko had all of his chips in the middle, the dealer turned it up to reveal {k-Spades}{10-Clubs} for the busted straight draw.

"Sorry to waste your time guys" Shylko said as he raked in his newly acquired chips. "It wasn't a waste of time, that's a real spot," the big blind player responded in a show of sportsmanship.

With roughly 25,000 in the pot on a {3-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{2-Spades} flop, Darren Elias check-called in the cutoff against a bet of 8,000 from Cherish Andrews on the button.

The {j-Hearts} landed on the turn, and Elias check-folded to a bet of 15,000 to concede the pot to Andrews.

Andrews recently scored $72,105 plus bounties for a sixth-place finish in the Wynn Summer Classic $2,200 Mystery Bounty, and she will be looking to make another final table run.

Sfez Navigates Five-Way Pot

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante

Eric Sfez opened to 1,000 from early position and was three-bet to 3,000 by a late position player. The cutoff called as did Abraham Korotki out of the small blind. The big blind came along and Sfez too tossed in the extra 2,000 to send action five-handed to the flop.

All players checked through the {2-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{j-Spades} flop to the {5-Clubs} turn. Both blinds checked for a second time, prompting Sfez to fire off a bet of 6,500. The late position player called while the cutoff and blinds got out of the way.

On the {3-Clubs} river, Sfez, with one eye on the large number of chips already in the middle, bet out 15,000. His sole remaining opponent wasted little time in mucking their hand to send Sfez rising up the chip counts.

A player in middle position was all-in for around 35,000 against Pavel Plesuv in the hijack.

Middle Position: {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}
Pavel Plesuv: {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}

The {7-Clubs}{2-Spades}{2-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{5-Clubs} board ran out all low cards, and after a count confirmed Plesuv held slightly more chips, his opponent made his exit from the table while Plesuv added the chips to his stack.
