Sotiropoulos Finds a Double

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Georgios Sotiropoulos
Georgios Sotiropoulos

Before the blinds went up, Georgios Sotiropoulos opened to 12,000 from middle position and was called by Michael Rossitto on the button. Yuliyan Kolev, who recently took down WSOP Event #37: $1,500 Millionaire Maker No-Limit Hold'em for a career high $1,125,189, three-bet to 43,000 out of the small blind and Sotiropoulos responded by moving all in. Rossitto got out of the way while Kolev called with the bigger stack to put Sotiropoulos at risk.

Georgios Sotiropoulos: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Yuliyan Kolev: {j-Hearts}{j-Spades}

Sotiropoulos was flipping for his tournament life but found immediate help on the {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{5-Spades} flop. The {3-Hearts} turn left Kolev looking for one of the two remaining jacks to bust his opponent but was unable to hit on the {9-Clubs} river, leaving himself short while sending a large pot Sotiropoulos' way.

As reported by Tsugunari Toma, an early position player opened to 13,000, the hijack called, and Toma raised to 45,000 on the button. Action folded back to the hijack who called.

The flop came {a-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{4-Hearts}, and the hijack check-called for 50,000. On the {j-Hearts} turn, the hijack again check-called for 50,000. The {9-Spades} completed the board, the hijack checked, Toma bet 95,000, and his opponent called.

Toma tabled {q-Hearts}{10-Hearts} and took the pot with a flush to move over a million chips.

Level 16 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Hossein Ensan
Hossein Ensan

Hyon Kim opened to 13,000 from middle position and received a single call from Hossein Ensan out of the big blind.

Ensan checked to the preflop raiser on a flop of {10-Spades}{3-Spades}{2-Hearts} and called after Kim continued for 12,000.

The {a-Clubs} turn saw Ensan check for a second time and once again make the call when Kim fired off a bet of 18,000.

On the {9-Spades} river Ensan chose to take over the betting lead, pushing a hefty 36,000 into the middle. Kim thought long and hard, asking to see how much Ensan had behind (around 80,000). Eventually Kim tossed his hand away, moving Ensan up above 200,000 early on Day 2.
