Gathy Slows Down Hughes

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Ryan Hughes built up one of the largest stacks in the field through the opening two levels but recently collided in a pot with Michael Gathy. Hughes opened to 1,000 in middle position and Gathy reraised to 4,000 out of the big blind. Hughes called and they went heads-up to a flop of {q-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{3-Clubs}.

Gathy continued with a bet of 3,000 and Hughes called to see the {4-Clubs} on the turn. Gathy checked this time and Hughes flicked in a bet of 6,000. Gathy called and the {k-Diamonds} completed the board. Both players checked and Gathy turned over {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds} for the winner.

Richardson Continues To Climb

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

The action folded to the button who limped in for 400 and Daemon Richardson raised to 1,400 in the small blind. The big blind made the call and button came along as well.

The flop fanned out {q-Hearts}{5-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and Richardson kept up the aggression with a bet of 3,000, which only the big blind called. On the {8-Clubs} turn Richardson bet out 5,000, and again the big blind tossed in chips for the call.

The {k-Diamonds} completed the board and both players checked to a showdown. Richardson revealed {a-Spades}{8-Hearts} for a pair of eights and scored the pot when his opponent mucked their hand.

Moreno Gets Rivered

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Johnnie Moreno opened to 1,000 from early position and only the player in the big blind made the call. The flop came {j-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{2-Clubs} and the big blind checked to Moreno who continued for 1,200. The big blind took a moment before tossing in chips for the call.

On the {9-Clubs} turn the big blind elected to lead out for 4,500 and Moreno made the call. The {q-Spades} river completed the board and both players tapped the table to a showdown. The big blind announced "queen" and rolled over {k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} for the rivered pair. Moreno flashed {k-Spades}{j-Diamonds} as he tossed them into the muck.

Carey Gets Away with a Sneaky Four-Bet

Level 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

David Levi opened to 1,100 in the hijack and Irene Carey just called in the cutoff. Daniel Sepiol three-bet to 5,500 from the small blind and Yulia Lisichkina flat-called from the big blind.

Levi quickly mucked his cards but Carey counted out her stuck before splashing in a four-bet to 20,100, leaving just 1,600 behind. Sepiol instantly mucked his cards but Lisichkina went into the tank. After a couple of minutes, she finally let her hand go and Carey raked in the pot.

After the hand, the players at the table discussed where they thought the hands ranked by player but the two ladies gave no indication of what they had.
