Ryan Hughes built up one of the largest stacks in the field through the opening two levels but recently collided in a pot with Michael Gathy. Hughes opened to 1,000 in middle position and Gathy reraised to 4,000 out of the big blind. Hughes called and they went heads-up to a flop of .

The flop fanned out and Richardson kept up the aggression with a bet of 3,000, which only the big blind called. On the turn Richardson bet out 5,000, and again the big blind tossed in chips for the call.

Levi quickly mucked his cards but Carey counted out her stuck before splashing in a four-bet to 20,100, leaving just 1,600 behind. Sepiol instantly mucked his cards but Lisichkina went into the tank. After a couple of minutes, she finally let her hand go and Carey raked in the pot.
