Adams Gets Caught Bluffing

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

The action folded around to Amir Emami in the small blind who bumped it up to 24,000 and Lenard Adams made the call in the big blind.

The flop came {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{2-Spades} and Emami check-called a bet of 40,000 from Adams. On the {9-Spades} turn both players slowed down with a check to the {k-Hearts} river.

Emami checked a third time and Adams quickly slid forward a stack of chips totaling 114,000. Emami went deep in the tank, but after close to a minute, tossed in the chips for a call. Adams mucked his cards and Emami took down the sizable pot without having to show his hand.

Amir Lehavot raised it up in early position and was called by Rick Biever in the cutoff and Kathy Liebert in the big blind. The flop came {10-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} and the action checked around to the {q-Spades} on the turn.

Liebert led out with a bet of 20,000 and only Lehavot called to see the {7-Clubs} on the river. Liebert fired out another bet of 40,000, leaving just 55,000 behind. Lehavot thought for a minute and then announced all in, prompting a fold from Liebert.

Just moments later, Liebert was seen exiting the tournament area and awarded with a min-cash.

It checked to Tran again who sized up a bet of 80,000 this time. Andros Ioakimides debated but let his hand go and the big blind quickly followed suit.

In a three-way pot of close to 60,000 in the middle on a flop showing {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}{2-Spades}, Jessica Vierling checked from the small blind and Justin Lapka checked his option in the big blind.

Nicholas Bond continued in middle position for 25,000 and Vierling took some time before cutting out a check-raise to 75,000. Lapka quickly got out of the way and Bond took a few seconds before releasing his cards as well and the pot was shipped to Vierling.

There was a raise to 16,000 and Vuong Do three-bet to 46,000 in the cutoff. James Calderaro four-bet shoved for 140,000 out of the big blind and Do wasted little time before calling.

James Calderaro: {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Vuong Do: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

It was a cooler for Calderaro who needed some help in order to survive the bubble. The board ran out {10-Spades}{9-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{3-Hearts} and Do's kings held on to eliminate Calderaro. The remaining 134 players have now all guaranteed themselves $8,386.

Chance Kornuth

Jake Schwartz raised to 17,000 in early position and Chance Kornuth pushed in his last 14,000 chips from the hijack. Sara Ralston also called on the button which created a small side pot.

The flop came {q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{7-Diamonds} and the action checked through to the {k-Clubs} on the turn and the {k-Diamonds} on the river. Schwartz finally threw in a bet of 22,000 and Ralston let her hand go.

While the players waited for the action at the other tables to finish, Kornuth and Schwartz exchanged some words about their hands but neither player was sure if the other was slow rolling or not. "I have a feeling I'm going to the PLO tournament," Kornuth said.

When the hands were tabled, Kornuth turned over {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs} but Schwartz found a lucky runout with {k-Spades}{3-Hearts} to eliminate Kornuth.

Coleman Doubles With Rockets

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Calvin Anderson opened to 18,000 from early position and David Coleman three-bet to 45,000 in the cutoff. It folded back around to Anderson who moved all in, covering the 205,000 total for Coleman, who snap-called.

David Coleman: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}
Calvin Anderson: {k-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}

The flop came {j-Spades}{9-Clubs}{7-Spades}, giving Anderson a straight draw, but when the rest of the board ran out {k-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}, the aces held for Coleman to score the full double up two away from the money.

Some Short Stacks on the Bubble

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

The tournament clock has been paused with 136 players remaining as the tournament will now begin the hand-for-hand portion. They are just two eliminations away from being in the money and locking up over $8,000.

Heidorn Gets Lucky, Then Unlucky

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Robert Heidorn raised to 76,000 under the gun, leaving 1,000 chips behind. Zach Donovan was in the big blind and peeled his cards along with Heidorn and then the two players got all of their chips in the middle.

Robert Heidorn: {q-Spades}{j-Clubs}
Zach Donovan: {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}

Heidorn was in rough shape but the flop of {j-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{2-Spades} put him out front with a pair of jacks. The {4-Clubs} on the turn gave Donovan a straight draw and the {5-Spades} on the river completed it, sending Heidorn home short of the money.
