Big Stacks Collide

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Alex Foxen
Alex Foxen

Alex Foxen opened to 17,000 from middle position and both Lenard Adams in the small blind and the player in the big blind made the call.

The flop came {j-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} and action checked over to Foxen who continued for 15,000. Adams quickly called and the big blind got out of the way.

On the {5-Hearts} turn Adams checked again to Foxen who sized up to 55,000. Adams elected on a check-raise to 155,000 and Foxen came along. The {4-Spades} hit the river and both players checked to a showdown. Adams rolled over {a-Spades}{10-Clubs} for ace-high and Foxen scooped the large pot with {8-Hearts}{5-Spades} for two pair.

"I want to go home," joked a player at the table about the aggressive action and tough players on table #41.

Kornuth Survives Elimination

Level 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Chance Kornuth
Chance Kornuth

Jake Schwartz opened to 18,000 from under the gun and Chance Kornuth jammed all in for 83,000 in middle position. The action folded back to Schwartz who contemplated before making the call.

Chance Kornuth: {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}
Jake Schwartz: {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

Schwartz was dominated but the flop of {j-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} gave him two pair to take the lead. The {8-Diamonds} on the turn provided some chop outs but it was the {a-Diamonds} on the river that gave Kornuth a full double-up.

"Whew!" Kornuth breathed a sigh of relief. "I just told someone on break how lucky I am."

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

The action folded to Zachary McDiarmid in the cutoff who moved all in for 62,000 and was called by Curt Kohlberg on the button. The blinds got out of the way and the cards were shown.

Zachary McDiarmid: {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}
Curt Kohlberg: {a-Hearts}{10-Spades}

McDiarmid found himself in great shape and when the board ran out {10-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{j-Hearts}, the flopped full house sealed the deal for McDiarmid to score the full double up close to the money bubble.

Hinson Scores a Double KO

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

David Dowdy opened to 13,000 on the button and Haim Gabay called from the small blind. Bradley Hinson three-bet to 46,000 in the big blind and Dowdy called. Gabay four-bet shoved all in for 144,000 and Hinson re-shoved all in. Dowdy thought for a minute and eventually called off his stack of 217,000.

Haim Gabay: {a-Spades}{j-Hearts}
David Dowdy: {a-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}
Bradley Hinson: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}

The flop fell {k-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} to give Hinson a commanding lead with a set of jacks. The {7-Hearts} on the turn gave Dowdy a single out but the {6-Hearts} on the river locked up the pot for Hinson to eliminate both of his opponents.

Deardorff Scores Huge Pot With a Boat

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

In a heads-up pot with roughly 45,000 in the middle on a flop showing {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}, Kristen Deardorff checked from the small blind to James Mendoza in the cutoff who bet out 12,000. Deardorff made the call and the pair saw the {a-Hearts} turn.

Deardorff checked again and Mendoza sized to 45,000, which Deardorff called. On the {a-Diamonds} river Deardorff checked a third time and Mendoza went deep in the tank. After almost a minute, Mendoza slid out a bet of 120,000 and Deardorff snap-called.

Mendoza mucked his hand and Deardorff tabled {a-Clubs}{j-Spades} to show she made a full-house to scoop the large pot.
