Action was heads up with a big pot near 2,000,000 and a board of K♦7♠Q♠2♦8♣ when Dominick Sarle shoved 1,785,000. Chris Frank was deep in the tank before he eventually called. Sarle turned over A♠A♣ to take the pot with pocket aces and Frank briskly folded his K♥J♣.
Meerwais Hussaini raised to 595,000 and left 30,000 behind for pay jump considerations. Jesse Kandola raised a stack of yellow T-100,000 chips and Hussaini went into the tank to use some time banks. He eventually tossed in the last 30,000 and the cards were turned up.
Meerwais Hussaini: A♥Q♠
Jesse Kandola: K♣K♠
The board ran out 8♦10♣9♦2♥5♠ and the kings held to eliminate Hussaini in 12th place for $38,472.
Landon Tice'ssummer crossbook with Jeremy Becker may not yet be underway, but the "child of the sim" is already heating up. On Wednesday, Tice took down a 2024 Wynn Millions Poker Series$400 buy-in event for $32,025 and his first Wynn trophy.
The victory for Tice, who topped a 512-player field after coming into Day 2 with 20 big blinds, shows that he means business in his upcoming high-stakes bet with Becker, which was set up by Daniel Negreanu and stipulates that both players crossbook 25 mutually played events between May 28 and July 1.
Tice took a bit of a shot at Becker in his winner's photo, giving a yawn while holding up Becker's trademark three-five offsuit.
Dominick Sarle raised to 160,000 and Jesse Kandola made it 550,000 from the next seat over in the cutoff. The rest of the table got out of the way and Sarle called.
The flop was 5♦K♥10♣ and Sarle check-called a bet of 750,000 from Kandola. The turn was A♠.
Sarle check-called again, this time for 1,200,000, and the river was Q♣.
Both players checked the river and Sarle turned over 10♦10♥ for a set of tens. Kandola tapped the table and tossed the losing hand in the muck.
