888 Weekly: Jesse Sylvia and Sofia Lövgren Reflect on 2015 WSOP

Sofia Lovgren

In addition to 888poker being the official partner of the 2015 World Series of Poker, the online poker operator sent 128 online qualifiers to play in this year's WSOP Main Event. Knowing that, it would be difficult to walk too far in the Rio Convention Center and not see players wearing 888poker patches and gear.

As has been the case in past years, 888poker is again hosting a blog which gives a more behind-the-scenes look at the WSOP, rather than purely focusing on the action itself. Here is a look at a handful of the blog posts that you can find under the WSOP2015 tab on the 888poker website.

Sofia Lövgren — Tournaments, Cash Games, and Shopping

888poker ambassador Sofia Lövgren shares her early Las Vegas experiences in a blog post titled Vegas — Huge Starting Fields and Cash Game Paradise. Lövgren shares with her fans her early frustration of entering four WSOP tournaments in her first nine days in Sin City with only a min-cash as a result.

Lövgren seems to be in good spirits despite the tournament losses, though, thanks to a little help from the cash games.

"I usually play $2/$5 or $5/$10 live, and it's quite similar in skill level to $1/$2 or $2/$4 online," said Lövgren. "I have played two short cash game sessions at the Rio so far, and I'm seven buy-ins up, which is OK. So I basically won back the buy-ins for the first three WSOP events."

Lövgren also talks about how she planned to play more poker tournaments and cash games, as well as take a day off to enjoy some shopping at the Las Vegas Premium Outlets.

WSOP Spectator Experience

Many poker enthusiasts flock to the Rio during the WSOP to just simply take in and enjoy the atmosphere. The 888poker blog post titled A Day at the Raises walks you through what it is like to be a spectator at the WSOP rather than one of the thousands of active participants from around the globe.

Poker Apps

888poker talks about why poker apps are so important to live poker players in a blog post titled Utilizing Poker Apps. Poker apps can prove to be helpful regardless of whether you are actively playing, studying, or looking for where you next game can be.

With that in mind, 888poker shared three excellent recommendations it received from poker players for those looking for great poker apps that many find helpful to have in their pockets at a moment's notice.

888poker highlights PokerCruncher for hand equity calculations, PokerJournal for tracking game play, and Poker Atlas if you are looking for where the poker action is or will be.

Jesse Sylvia's WSOP Experience

888poker caught up with the 2012 WSOP Main Event runner-up Jesse Sylvia in a blog post titled After the Four of Hearts: An Interview With Jesse Sylvia.

The interview begins with Sylvia talking about how he wants to make the most of his travel while also traveling less in general. He then goes on to talk about his early WSOP experience, where at the time he not only has his eye on become the 2015 WSOP Player of the Year, but also win the Main Event to one-up Greg Merson.

"I'd like to one-up Greggie [Merson] by also winning Player of the Year and the Main Event at the same time.

Sylvia also talks about how he is content with life in general, and maintains a good balance between poker and his personal life.
