$50,000 Guaranteed 888Live Local Event to Hit Cyprus on August 28
Looking to start your summer with a bang? The 888Live Local poker series is preparing for a weekend of sun, sea and poker as it heads to the spectacular Island of Cyprus for its next stop.
Running from August 28-30, the event is the fourteenth to date and will be hosted at the luxury Malpas Hotel and Casino where players can enjoy an elite poker experience in addition to the hotel's five facilities, which include a swimming pool, a private beach club and a spa.
Built to combine poker with many other exciting activities around the world, the 888poker Live Local series has visited several locales in 2015 including Spain, Czech Republic, Croatia, Slovenia, Canada and Australia.
The 888live events have already shown potential as feedback from early participants has been overwhelming. 888Live Events Operations Manager Mouhcine Jalili spoke to PokerNews back in June and said that these events are built around a different concept to other poker tours.
The 888Live Local event are four-day events with two days of poker and two days of something totally different.
"These are all about giving people a very unique experience that features much more than 'just a poker tournament.' In a way, you could even say that poker is almost a secondary aspect in the 888live experience," Jalili explained.
The formula of success, according to Jalili, is fairly simple. "We don't just go somewhere to play poker. We organize four-day events with two days of poker and two days of something totally different."
"We want people to have a great time," Jalili continued, "and I am not talking only about those who play - but also about those who come in with the players. Some people come to our events because they want to have a nice time with their friends or their partner, and it's our duty to make sure that they leave happy and with the feeling that they found what they were looking for."
Players who head to sunny Cyprus are invited to play for a share of an impressive $50,000 guaranteed prize pool for a modest $550 buy-in. Registration will be open to all players via the Malpas Hotel and Casino. Online grinders who reside in countries where 888poker legally operates can also win seats to the event through the site's online satellite tournaments, with buy-ins starting from as low as $0.01, or through entering the tournament qualifiers directly.
