Michael "JohnnyDrama" Haberman Jr. remains as the top-dog in the PocketFives NJ Online Rankings.
As expected, many New Jersey online poker players chose to watch Super Bowl 50 or attend parties instead of playing online as many of the prize pools were down over the weekend with both networks' flagship tournaments failing to meet their guarantees.
Taking the most advantage of this was "BigBuxBuro," who finished first after agreeing to a heads-up deal in the partypoker NJ/BorgataPoker.com $50,000 Guarantee to collect $8,585. Matt "holla2mlo" Lo also scored big as part of the deal with his official second-place finish earning him an even $8,000.
Other notable players to outlast most of the 228-player field to reach the final table included Michael "miw210x" Wang snagging fifth place for $3,350 and Daniel "yazi4" Caiazzo taking home $1,850 for finishing in eight place.
Over in the WSOP.com NJ/888poker NJ Sunday $30,000 Guarantee, it was "mavs19" out-dueling Ryan "Hagzzz021" Hagerty heads-up to win $8,250. Hagerty won a consolidation prize of $4,800 for his efforts.
Also appearing on the final table out of the 148-player field in that tournament were Zach "Mapz_" Seymour (fifth place - $1,830), Tommy "romeo8880" Romeo (seventh place - $1,170), and Judy "jqbpk7777" Bielan (ninth place - $540).
Meanwhile there was a bit of a shuffle in the top five spots in the PocketFives New Jersey Online Rankings, which ranks the best online poker tournament players on New Jersey regulated poker room. Michael "JohnnyDrama" Haberman Jr. remains in the top spot after appearing at two final tables over the weekend, however, this is where the stability ends.
Now in second place is Yong "ykwon17" Kwon, followed by Keith "donnysack" Donovan (third place), Daniel "RedsoxNets5" Sewnig (fourth place), and former long-time number one ranked New Jersey online tournament player Andrew "Mergulas" Glauberg (fifth place). Knocked out of the top five and sliding to seventh place was CardRunners instructor and poker coach Michael "gags30" Gagliano.
