New Jersey's "big.appl3" was Sunday's biggest winner in the Garden State after outlasting a field of 173 players to win the WSOP.com NJ/888poker NJ $50,000 Ultimate Warrior. This marks the biggest score for this player, with his previous largest haul coming in February 2014 when, according to her PocketFives.com profile, she shipped the partypoker NJ/BorgataPoker.com Sunday $50K for $12,173.
Other players scoring big in the $50,000 Ultimate Warrior included Bob "SLHalper" Taylor (third - $4,500), Connor "NYR9414" Berkowitz (fourth - $4,500), Michael "SnakePlisken" Bees (eighth - $1,200) and Thomas "Beezy.F.Baby" Bimble (ninth - $850).
The weekend's other five-digit winner came in the PokerStars NJ Sunday Special, $50,000 Gtd when "stuckndatrap" navigated through a field of 244 entrants to win the top prize of $10,225. Notable players on the final table in this tournament included Michael "MartinChatwn" Lavenburg (fourth - $4,250), Ryan "ISlowRollYou" Hohner (sixth - $2,250), Andrew "BreweRonnie" Glauberg (eighth - $1,250) and Daniel "AvaGray" Lupo (ninth - $950).
Both Lavenburg and Lupo went on to cash in the second biggest tournament of the weekend on PokerStars NJ, the Sunday High Roller [6-Max], $15,000 Gtd, taking second and fourth places respectfully for $4,949 and $1,833. Jacob "SGTPowell" Perry won this tournament for $7,322, while Yong "iFoldN0T" Kwon snagged the third-place prize of $2,750 and Steven "FadeOrHoldz" Madara snuck into the money banking the fifth-place prize of $1,466.
Meanwhile, "Billy_Wheels" was the big winner on Sunday on partypoker NJ/BorgataPoker.com after shipping the Sunday $40K gtd for $8,720. Appearing on the final table, but short of the top prize, were Jesse "NoXcape" Elliot (second - $5,930), Eric "alwaysliquid" Vanauken (third - $4,316), Cody "GrapeAPE" Cluff (fifth $3,096), William "reaper" Parker (sixth - $2,660) and Justin "PocketProfits" Wong (eighth - $1,788).
Also winning tournaments with at least a $10,000 guaranteed prize pool were David "TheKing411" Coleman (partypoker NJ/BorgataPoker.com Sunday Seconds $10K Gtd - $3,230), Michael "LeftSid3" Haberman Jr (WSOP.com NJ/888poker NJ $10,000 Warriors’ Opening Strike - $3,047) and Jeremy "Jermz" Danger (WSOP.com NJ/888poker NJ $10,000 Fierce Warrior - $3,605).
