In the Spotlight: Mixed Game High Rollers Earn Negreanu, Lamb Look-Ups
The Hendon Mob database of tournament poker results is a much-consulted site for poker players and fans alike. Among the many rankings available on the site are ongoing lists of most searched players over the last week. Such lists provide quick snapshots of which tournament poker players are currently "in the spotlight" with their profiles being looked at the most.
Here are the most searched players on Hendon Mob over the last seven days as reported by the site this morning, Saturday, April 22:
Daniel Negreanu climbed back to the top of this list again this week, with visitors to Hendon Mob again looking over his many tournament cashes dating back to 1997.
Negreanu just added a couple more lines to his lengthy tournament résumé by finishing runner-up in both of those $25K Mixed Game High Roller tournaments held at the ARIA Resort & Casino earlier this week, bringing his overall winnings to $33,140,448 (first on the all-time list).
Fedor Holz (2nd) kept his spot near the top, and people are still looking up the results of last week's leader David Dao (3rd) thanks to his involvement in that United Airlines incident.
Neither Erik Seidel (5th), Phil Ivey (8th) nor Phil Hellmuth (10th) picked up any tournament cashes over the last week, but the pages of all three continue to be viewed frequently. Meanwhile Claudia Crawford (5th) has cashed in the World Series of Poker Main Event a couple of times on her way to collecting over $280K in tournament winnings, as Hendon Mob visitors read about this week.
Charlie Carrel (7th) has more than $5.2 million in tournament winnings, having added another cash earlier in the month in the World Poker Tour Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown Finale won by Ryan Riess. And Pat Lyons (9th) — winner of the WPT Legends of Poker last August — cashed in that same event at the Seminole Hard Rock as well.
Speaking of Lyons and Carrel, those two were actually involved in a memorable hand last month at WPT Rolling Thunder, which you can read about it here: "Pat Lyons Four-Bet Shoves Blind in Crazy Hand at WPT Rolling Thunder."
Hendon Mob also maintains a updated list of players with the biggest increase in unique hits over the previous seven days, a.k.a. the "Top Movers." As is usually the case, many appearing among this group enjoyed big recent tournament scores, thus inspiring look-ups of their pages.
It should be noted that the percentages used on this list are comparative, reflecting the change in the number of page views from a week ago. That means recent searches of both Crawford and Tony Bloom have caused them to jump to the top of this list.
Bloom is chairman of the Brighton football club, in the news this week thanks to their promotion to the Premier League. Incidentally, Bloom — whose most recent cash came in the $111,111 High Roller for One Drop at the 2016 WSOP — was among those who appeared on the U.K.'s Late Night Poker television show. Barney Boatman shared some memories of that groundbreaking show with PokerNews just this week.
Other "Top Movers" added new lines to their profiles recently, including...
- Mimi Luu, winner of the WPTDeepStacks Main Event in Lincoln, California for $85,900.
- Vojtech Ruzicka, who took down the partypoker LIVE MILLIONS Dusk Till Dawn High Roller for £284,210.
- Ben Lamb, who won one of those $25K Mixed Game High Rollers at the ARIA for $281.250.
Lamb defeated a 25-entry field (including second-place finisher Negreanu) to win his High Roller on Monday at the ARIA. The next night Daniel Alaei was the one outlasting Negreanu heads-up to win and top a smaller 10-entry field.
