Poker Central & ARIA Announce High Roller of the Year Award

High Roller of the Year

Player points races are a staple in the poker industry as a way to provide added incentive to inspire loyalty of players to a particular poker tour in a time where competition among tournament series is piquing and choices of events abound. Poker Central and ARIA Resort & Casino are joining this trend with an offer for a unique players points race for high rollers.

The High Roller of the Year award, a new points race for high roller regulars to compete across the multitude of big buy-in events that Poker Central offers throughout the year, offers up valuable prizes for the top, most consistent finishers.

"While not only rewarding players for consistent performance in these events, we want to create added storylines and drama to the series that can be followed throughout the year."

The first chance to earn points for the year will be at the $25K ARIA High Roller Series event on May 31, which will take place in Poker Central’s new state-of-the-art PokerGO Studio inside ARIA. Players can earn points in all of the Poker Central high roller events, culminating with the 2019 Super High Roller Bowl (SHRB) typically held in late May.

“This player of the year system gives the ARIA High Roller Series and High Roller Triple Crown an extra layer of competition for our poker pros,” said Sam Simmons, vice president of content at Poker Central. “While not only rewarding players for consistent performance in these events, we want to create added storylines and drama to the series that can be followed throughout the year.”

Contributing to the drama are the tangible prizes at stake, including rake-free entry into all of the high roller events in the following year as well as automatic bids into the Super High Roller Bowl for the top five points earners at the time that the seating lottery takes place.

Points can be earned for finishing in the money in any ARIA High Roller Series events, with the possibility of earning point multipliers for major tournament finishes. These include the High Roller Triple Crown comprised of the recently donned Poker Masters and the U.S. Poker Open, with the prestigious SHRB serving as the third and final leg of the race.
