The Muck: Allen “Chainsaw” Kessler Weighs In for Junk Food Prop Bet

Allen Kessler

On Friday, June 21, the Twinkie Truck was parked at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino distributing free cupcakes to 2019 World Series of Poker players. Never one to turn down a freebie, Allen “Chainsaw” Kessler helped himself to a box and proceeded to down several of them at the table.

Kessler’s eating habits, which also included a bag of Fritos, inspired two pros prone to prop bets to make one.

Mike Noori, who two years ago failed in his bid to eat $1,000 worth of McDonald’s food in 36 hours, and Shaun Deeb made on how much Kessler weighed with the line set at 180 lbs. Deeb had the under, while Noori took the over.

“I ate three cupcakes yesterday, and Noori was sure I weighed well over 180."

“It started with Deeb and Mike Noori because I was eating junk food at the table,” Kessler explained. “I ate three cupcakes yesterday, and Noori was sure I weighed well over 180. Other people at the table started taking the under.”

On Saturday, All-American Dave set up an official scale and Kessler headed out on a break to weigh in with Joe Weinberger serving as the official weigh-in referee. Kessler stripped off his belt, emptied his pockets, and kicked off his shoes before stepping on the scale and weighing in at – 179 lbs!

“I didn’t think I was anywhere near that,” Kessler said. When asked how much he thought he weight he responded: “Like 165. It’s probably the most I’ve ever weighed in my life to be honest with you. I do eat a lot of junk food.”

While Kessler didn’t have any money on the line, he indicated that there were “thousands” being bet. Once again, the under was the right bet.

“I was exaggerating, maybe $1,000 total,” Kessler later clarified. Apparently, Noori had bet others at the table in addition to Deeb.

Whatever the specifics, it’s becoming clear that prop bets involving food aren’t Noori’s forte.
