The Muck: Phil Hellmuth Darts Off to Machu Picchu in the Middle of WSOP

Normally Phil Hellmuth is a permanent fixture at the World Series of Poker, but this year he has taken a quick break from the bracelet chase and is now in Machu Picchu.

The 15-time bracelet winner is enjoying a "once-in-a-lifetime opportunity" on a private jet and yacht and is traveling with the likes of actor Rob Lowe and owner of the Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Dodgers and LA Football Club Peter Gruber.

Some followers were concerned about Hellmuth missing tournaments for Fantasy points, hoping he would be back in full force to make up for it.

Others were concerned he wasn't dressed for the occasion...

Hellmuth also missed a big moment on Saturday, June 29th at the First Fifty Honors gala, where several ambassadors of the game received awards. Some of the big winners included Chris Moneymaker, Daniel Negreanu, Doyle Brunson and Hellmuth himself. To nobody's surprise, he picked up the award for 'WSOP’s Favorite Bad Boy', with a pre-recorded video message and acceptance of the award from his agent Brian Balsbaugh.

As of today, it looks like Hellmuth is on his way to Galápagos Island by way of a private train car. Between the live music and fine dining, some of his fans are worried he might not show up for the Main Event.
