Michael Addamo Kicks Off 2021 in Style; Wins WSOPC New Year Colossus

There are few titles that Michael Addamo hasn’t managed to win during his long and illustrious poker career. He can remove a WSOP Circuit ring from his to-do list after triumphing in the WSOPC #15: $400 New Year Colossus at GGPoker this weekend.

Addamo overcame 8,724 opponents on his way to bagging the $400 New Year Colossus title. Victory in this massive event not only awarded a coveted WSOP Circuit ring, but also a colossal cash prize that weighed in at $374,604.

Each of the nine finalists guaranteed themselves $37,459 for their $400 investment. Hong Kong’s Sparrow “FacelessMan” Cheung collected this sum when he crashed out in ninth.

Rui “OlliOctavius” Sousa was the next casualty when he ran ace-king into Addamo’s pocket kings. Tudor “hotsince93” Lazar then found kings to bust “minterofbtc” in seventh-place before “Hazes” ran their jack-ten into the, you guessed it, kings of “benchplayer8”.

Everyone else was now guaranteed a six-figure haul for their effort and Estonia’s Tenno “ViiolAwo” Tonts was the first to grab this bumper prize. His demise in fifth-place, at the hands of Addamo, resulted in him banking $118,458.

Addamo’s ten-seven came from behind to best the pocket aces of benchplayer8 to reduce the player count by one. Addamo then busted “Pikerdon” in third place, a finish worth $210,653, to send the Colossus into the heads-up stage.

Holding a near 10-to-1 lead over Lazar, an Addamo victory was a formality. A couple of hands into the one-on-one battle, Addamo limp-called a 20,937,674 (10.5 big blind) shove from Lazar. Lazar held ace-king, Addamo queen-jack and a queen on the flop sealed the deal for the talented Australian.

Vamos! Yuri Dzivielevski Takes Down the $800 Fifty Stack

Yuri Dzivielevski is $178,236 richer than a couple of days ago courtesy of winning the top prize of the $800 Fifty Stack. Dzivielevski already has a couple of WSOP bracelet, he now has another piece of poker jewellery, a WSOPC ring.

He battled with some of the world’s best players on his way to yet another major title. Rui Ferreira, for example, finished fifth here but he regularly fights it out in tournaments with a buy-in 10-times this size.

The United Kingdom’s Harry “vulvasore” Lodge was another star who reached this final table. Lodge ran out of luck in fourth place and collected $75,161.

Dzivielevski’s fellow Brazilian Alex Greenblatt fell in third for $100,229 before Dzivielevski defeated America’s Justin Park heads-up for the title.

Anson “Tara@oz” Tsang secured a WSOPC ring and a cool $178,921 after being the last man standing in the WSOPC Event #10: $400 Christmas PLOSSUS. The Hong Kong-based grinder came out on top of a 3,628-strong field to become a WSOPC champion.

Ukraine has itself a WSOPC champion after Oleg “Ad Astra” Vasylchenko won the WSOPC Event #11: $1,050 Bounty Hunters Championship. Vasylchenko defeated Marty “RetremntFund” Mathis heads-up to bag a total prize worth $145,005.

Finally, for the WSOPC round-up at least, a shout out to Fabian “lordof0513” Schmidt who won the WSOPC Event #12: $500 Deepstack. Schmidt overcame come incredible opponents at the nine-handed final table, including Germany’s Oliver Weis heads-up. Schmidt collected $90,943 for his impressive victory, that and a WSOPC ring.

Parssinen Wins Big at partypoker

Eelis Parssinen, fresh from an impressive victory at GGPoker, took down the The High Roller Big Game at partypoker. A field of 124-players bought in for $2,600 and Parssinen outlasted them all. His reward? $76,311.

The Finnish grinder had to contend with a star-studded final table that was the home to the likes of Christian Rudolph, Jans Arends, Niklas Astedt, and eventual runner-up Joao Vieira. Vieira collected $49,103 for his second-place finish.

Two Biggest 888poker Events Break Guarantees

888poker’s two biggest Sunday events both hit there guarantees, the $100,000 Sunday Mega Deep and the $30,000 Sunday Challenge PKO, the latter seeing its usual $25,000 guarantee increased for the New Year.

Some 1,051 players turned out for the $100,000 Sunday Mega Deep and created a $105,100 prize pool. It was a Russian one-two in this event with “Ilovetyumen” defeating their fellow countryman “SpaceNuts” heads-up.

The champion walked away with an impressive $19,285 and the runner-up banking $13,768. Third-place finisher “SirHennie” also booked a five-figure score, namely $10,404.

“Iplaynayone” was crowned champion of the $30,000 Sunday Challenge PKO which attracted a field of 355. Victory weighed in at $6,154 in total, made up of the $3,099 top prize and $3,055 from the bounty prize pool.

Igor “lechuckpoker” Kurganov Wins High Roller Sunday Supersonic

Igor “lechuckpoker” Kurganov added the PokerStars $1,050 Sunday Supersonic title to his already long list of poker accomplishments, adding the $22,090 top prize to his millions in winnings.

The Sunday Supersonic is a hyper-turbo structured tournament that all the pros love playing, especially because winning it results in an hourly rate in the thousands.

Canada’s “RPILON” was the first finalist to bust before Francisco “Tomatee” Benitez busted in fifth. Russia’s Maksim “MAMOHT_T” Viktorovich fell in fourth and narrowly missed out on a five-figure score; he walked away with $9,997!

Heads-up was set when Lithuania’s “babatukas888” fell in third. This left Kurganov and Anton “Bomber&Granater” Wigg heads-up. Kurganov got the job done and claimed the $22,090 top prize, resigning Wigg to a $16,960 consolation prize.
