Andre Marques Leads Final 9 in PartyPoker's MILLIONS Online KO Main Event

Andre Marques

The MILLIONS Online KO Main Event on PartyPoker has reached its final day, with just nine players remaining from the 978 entries. Portugal's Andre Marques has the chip lead going into the final table and was the only player to bag more than 200 million from yesterday's action.

Day 3 gets underway later today at 8:30 p.m. GMT with live coverage beginning at the same time on PartyPoker's Twitch Channel.

MILLIONS Online KO Main Event Final Table Preview

The Main Event fell just short of its $1 million guarantee and had a small overlay of $22,000. The final nine will battle it out for the lion's share of the prize pool, with the winner walking away with the $66,840 first-place prize and any bounties they pick up along the way.

As mentioned, Marques sits in pole position going into the final day of action but looking to usurp him are Vlad Martynenko and Viktor Zsemlye, who round out the top three chip counts.

The likes of Mathias Siljander, Sebastien Proulx and Matthieu Rodriguez sit in the middle of the pack while Vojtech Skalak, Martins Adeniya and Pieter Theelen kick off the final table in the danger zone.

Whatever happens, when play resumes, each of the players has locked up $6,960, with pay jumps increasing more and more as the field whittles away.

Day 2 Recap

Day 2 began with 147 players returning to the felt knowing they had secured the $1,106 min-cash. Matt Staples was the only PartyPoker ambassador to make it through to Day 2 and he was among those who collected a min-cash after he bowed out in 141st place.

A host of other notable names soon found themselves on the wrong side of the rail. Ian Modder (42nd - $1,862), Patrick Lauber (24th - $2,714) and Juan Vecino (84th - $1,388), who all began as the Day 2 big stacks, were unable to go the distance.

The last elimination of the night was poker legend Niklas Astedt. He put in his last ten big blind with queen-jack suited and was called by Martynenko with ace-nine. Astedt paired up on the flop but running clubs saw his opponent make a flush to bring Day 2 proceedings to a close.
