PartyPoker Big Quarter

The latest edition of PartyPoker’s Big Quarter event is done and dusted. Over the course of dozens of Day 1s, a massive crowd of 14,712 players bought in for $11 and fought it out for a share of the $150,000 guaranteed prize pool. The last player standing, and therefore the PartyPoker Big Quarter champion was “Anikibrs,” who came out on top and got their hands on $10,752 for their $11 investment.

This Big Quarter was played as a mystery bounty tournament, with seven envelopes containing prizes of more than $1,000. Those bounties came into play on Day 2, when 1,412 PartyPoker players returned to their seats.

“HiltonSoares” would ordinarily be disappointed to bust in 54th place when the victory was within grasp. However, one of the 10 opponents they sent to the showers had a $5,000 mystery bounty on their head, which is now in “HiltonSoares”’ PartyPoker account.

$10,000 was the largest mystery bounty in play. It was one of the finalists who claimed this five-figure sum. “Smurf” may not have taken down the Big Quarter, but the $14,162 total prize they reeled in was the largest of the tournament.

With the mystery bounties they’d already collected included, none of the nine Big Quarter finalists could take home less than $1,067, a cool 97 times more than their initial $11 investment. That was the sum “pcfamila4” collected when their deep run ended in a ninth-place finish.

“Notoriousram” ran out of steam in eighth, a finish good for $1,253, before “Noodle39” was cast aside in seventh for $1,240. Sixth-place and $1,664 went to “MaxOut69,” with “SvanteL”’s elimination in fifth coming with a $2,260 payout.

The aforementioned “Smurf” bowed out in fourth, but they had no reasons to feel blue because their total haul tipped the scales at an event-best $14,162.

Three-handed play ended when “sapobala” crashed by the wayside, collecting $4,965. That elimination left “Anikibrs” and “numpty the mug” in a one-on-one battle for the lion’s share of the regular prize pool and the final two mystery bounty payments.

The heads-up battle went “Anikibrs”’s way. Their first-place finish saw PartyPoker award them $9,842 which when $910 worth of bounties was added to it, resulted in a top prize worth $10,752. The runner-up padded their PartyPoker bankroll with a $7,025 score, which included bounties.
