WPT Seminole Rock 'n' Roll Poker Open Main Event Offers $3M Guarantee Nov. 24-29

The World Poker Tour (WPT) is returning to the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida for the 2023 WPT Seminole Rock ‘n’ Roll Open festival from November 15-29 and PokerNews will be on hand to provide content from throughout the series.

The annual festival will culminate in the $3,500 Main Event from Nov. 24-29 and it features a $3,000,000 guarantee, a step up from the $2,000,000 guarantee offered in 2022. The 2022 edition drew 1,541 entries for a huge prize pool of $4,931,200, so the $3 million mark should not be a problem.

The festival also features an opening $400 Deepstack with a $2,000,000 guarantee and eight opening flights spread out over Nov. 15-18. There will be tournaments of all variants spread throughout, leading up to the Main Event and a $25,500 High Roller that will offer a $1,000,000 guarantee on Nov. 27.

The tour will make an early-November stop in Jacksonville for WPT bestbet Scramble before it hits Seminole Hard Rock for the next stop on the road to the WPT World Championship at Wynn Las Vegas.

England’s Andy Wilson entered the final table with a healthy chip lead but faced some big obstacles in the form of the defending champ, a three-time WPT winner, and a two-time WPT champ looking for back-to-back titles.

Defending champ Gediminas Uselis, who won the 2021 WPT RRPO for $778,490, fell short in his title defense bid after bowing out in the early part of the final table. Three-time champion WPT Brian Altman was eliminated just a few hands later before Chad Eveslage fell in third place. Eveslage was on the doorstep of back-to-back titles, but the third-place finish did give him the Player of the Year lead at the time — a title he would hold on to win.

In the end, it was Wilson who beat Josh Kay in heads-up play for a spot on the Mike Sexton Champions Cup and $785,800.
