The World Series of Poker (WSOP) Paradise is a winter series held at the Atlantis Paradise Island in The Bahamas. The series kicked off today and runs from December 3-14. It will feature 15 bracelet events across different variants with over $51 million in guarantees. PokerNews is on hand to provide live coverage of the event, with photos, videos, and player interviews live from the tournament floor in The Bahamas.

For months, GGPoker has been busy qualifying players from all over the world via their “Road To Paradise,” which launched at the beginning of October. Each WSOP Paradise package came with entry into the prestigious $5,000 WSOP Paradise Main Event, scheduled to unfold amid the tropical splendor of Atlantis Paradise Island from December 9, offering an impressive $15 million in guaranteed prizes. But that's not all; winners will also savor a 10-night stay at the luxurious Atlantis Paradise Island resort, celebrated for its lavish amenities and awe-inspiring ocean vistas.

There are several ways to qualify, and PokerNews has been profiling several of the lucky winners who’ll be traveling to the Caribbean island for their shot at poker immortality.

Here’s a look at the qualifiers PokerNews has profiled so far:

Mystery Bounty Success

Brazil’s Ivan Ost won a $25 satellite to play a Mystery Bounty on GGPoker, and it was there he won not one, but two packages to the WSOP Paradise.

“I'm very excited,” said Ost, who hasn’t played any big tournaments like the WSOP before, but is a regular in his region. “I have played since 2009 in university. I started playing after Joe Cada’s championship. Now, I keep working as a vet but since 2019 I am a professional at medium stakes. I'm also a partner of a small poker team.”

He continued: “I have a family that supports me a lot in my poker career. My biggest hit online was the WSOP Mystery Bounty this year for $24k, and live about $5k. I want to play more at WSOP Paradise if possible, keep healthy during this marathon, and have a good relaxing vacation when possible.”

While playing, Ost hopes to meet players like Daniel Negreanu for “what he represents in poker” and Yuri Martins, who is an “inspiration to all Brazilian players.

“I saw that Tony Parker will play too. I'm a big fan of the Spurs and the NBA. It would be an honor to meet him,” Ost added. “This year has been so good to me. I evolved a lot. I’m grateful for what poker is giving me. This opportunity is unique and I will do my best. Who knows?”
