Alex Livingston Closes Out PGT Mixed Games Series; Four Final Tables For Negreanu

PGT Mixed Games Festival

The latest PokerGO Tour (PGT) series wrapped up this week with the completion of PGT Mixed Games 2024, a series that ran Feb. 28-March 8 and consisted of various mixed game events with buy-ins ranging from $5,100 to $25,300.

While he didn't take home any trophies, the true dominator of the high-stakes mixed game series was Daniel Negreanu, who made four final tables including a runner-up finish in the $10,200 Dealer's Choice event for $103,400 (which PokerNews recapped here) and a third-place finish in the $10,200 Big Bet Mix event for $55,000.

Negreanu promised quality over quantity in the new year after losing over $2 million in poker tournaments in 2023, and he is certainly delivering.

Negreanu's fourth final table of the PGT Mixed Game series came in Event #8: $10,200 Big Bet Mix, which drew 37 runners, including known mixed game crushers like Chad Eveslage, Adam Friedman, Benny Glaser and Jason Mercier.

Despite having a final table chip lead, Negreanu fell in third to make way for a heads-up battle between Dan Shak and Jeremy Ausmus that saw the investor defeat the six-time bracelet winner for $133,200 and his first PGT victory.

In the $25,300 10-Game Championship, which drew 41 entrants for a prize pool of just over $1 million, 2019 Main Event final tablist Alex Livingston came out on top to win $324,465 and his first PGT title.

Livingston, who won a bracelet in 2022 in the $1,500 Seven Card Stud event and finished runner-up in the 2023 $10,000 No-Limit 2-7 Lowball Draw and H.O.R.S.E. Championships, defeated another mixed game specialist in Dylan Weisman, who finished second for $290,535 to come up short of winning his second PGT title of the year.

According to PokerGO updates, Livingston maintained the chip lead from Day 1 onward as he battled a final table that included Dan Zack (3rd - $153,750) and John Racener (5th - $82,000), both of whom picked up trophies earlier in the series.

Only four places paid in the small field 2-7 tournament and John Riordan (4th - $15,400) and Jonathan Krela (3rd - $22,400) were the first in the money to go before a heads-up showdown between Walter Chambers and Felipe Ramos.

It was Chambers' third straight final table of the series as he also finished fourth in Event #8 for $40,700 and sixth in Event #9 for $61,500, and he got the job done in the closing event to win the trophy and $63,000.
