2025 APAT WCOAP

The wait is almost over for hundreds of amateur poker players who have been counting down the days until the 2025 World Championship Of Amateur Poker (WCOAP). Scores of the Amateur Poker Association & Tour (APAT) community will descend on Dusk Till Dawn in Nottingham between August 20-25 to battle it out for prize money, medals, bracelets, and the prestige of becoming a champion of amateur poker.

The bulk of the 2025 APAT WCOAP runs from August 20-25, although Day 1a of the £210 NLHE World Amateur Poker Championship is scheduled for August 17. This tournament, the Main Event, features four flights, each played as a freezeout. Each flight plays down to 15% of the field, with Day 1 survivors progressing to Day 2 with a min-cash in tow.

Players can enter as many Day 1s as they wish. However, anyone who progresses to Day 2 but chooses to enter another Day 1 automatically forfeits their initial stack and will not receive a min-cash. Only stacks that are in plan are eligible for the min-cash.

Last year, the WCOAP Main Event attracted 518 entrants, creating a £90,650 prize pool. Nick Bowyer claimed the title of champion, a WCOAP bracelet, a coveted APAT gold medal, and a career-best score of £15,000.
