Bar Poker Open

One of the funnest poker tours for recreational players is returning to Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City after a five-year hiatus for the Bar Poker Open (BPO) Atlantic City Championship.

The 2025 Bar Poker Open Atlantic City Championship festival will take place from Nov. 13-18, culminating with the $400 buy-in Atlantic City Championship with an estimated prize pool of $200,000. PokerNews will be on-site providing live updates of the Main Event action.

Adding to the excitement, the event will coincide with the Borgata Fall Poker Open.

Back in Atlantic City

The BPO began as a small grassroots initiative and has grown into one of the largest community poker festivals in the country. Over 30 leagues are represented, and thousands of players take part both on and off the felt.

Action in Atlantic City will kick off with the $200 Early Bird Monster Stack Turbo with a $5,000 guaranteed prize pool, followed the next night by a $180 Friday Night Super Deep Frenzy event with a $10,000 guarantee.

The invite-only Atlantic City Championship will kick off on Nov. 15 with the first of two starting flights. The top 10% of the field from both flights will return for Day 2 on Nov. 17 and play down to a final table, which will be streamed later that evening.

The winner will receive a guaranteed first-place prize of $30,000, as well as a World Poker Tour (WPT) Freeroll Travel Package.

Other highlights on the BPO schedule include a $250 Triple Green Chip Bounty event with a $10,000 guarantee, a $180 Survivor Bounty event with a $5,000 guarantee and a $150 Super Deep Super Turbo event with a $5,000 guarantee.

The Bar Poker Open is a great way to turn a part-time hobby into a major score. Earlier this year, Ron Fienberg of KOntenders Poker USA took down the 2025 Bar Poker Open Vegas World Championship in Las Vegas for $100,000.
