Three players battled for at least a share of — or the whole — a $1.2 million pot in an epic hand that occurred during High Stakes Poker's Season 15 on PokerGO.

The hand, part of an action-packed Episode 8, saw Andrew Robl, Sean Dempsey, and Darin Feinstein all get a piece of the flop, and they all hoped to take down what would had a chance to become one of the biggest pots in High Stakes Poker history.

Robl, one of the best high-stakes cash game players ever, has become a regular on High Stakes Poker. He's had some ups and downs — mostly ups. The poker legend had a shot at winning his largest televised poker hand, if only the river would be kind to him.

Action in the $500/$1,000 no-limit hold'em hand began with Robl, the largest stack, raising to $5,000 with K6. Dempsey, who began the hand with $476,000, called with A5 on the button. Feinstein, the smallest stack among the trio with $278,000, had AQ in the straddle and three-bet to $20,000. Both players called to see a flop of A7K, which hit all three hands.

Feinstein continued for $35,000, and both opponents called. The turn was the 5, one of only two cards in the deck that would give Dempsey the best hand. Feinstein, however, wasn't concerned with that card, so he fired out another wager, this time for $135,000.

Robl, drawing to the nut flush with second pair, made the call. Dempsey then came over the top with an all-in bet of $421,000. There wasn't much of a decision for Feinstein as he only had $90,000 behind and was too committed to fold. But Robl tanked for a bit before calling off $286,000 more, which went into a side pot with Dempsey.

The entire pot had $1,234,500 in it, and all three players agreed to run the river three times, giving them each an opportunity to win at least a portion of the pot. Feinstein and Dempsey would each be guaranteed to get at least some money back when they chopped the first river, the 7, which paired the board, leaving the K as the two pair kicker.

The second river was the 5, giving Dempsey a full house, ensuring that he would turn a profit in the hand. Robl remained the only player who still hadn't collected a portion of the pot, but he would end up getting one-third of the pot when the K on the third river gave him trips.

"Does this guy ever get scooped? He never gets stone-scooped," High Stakes Poker commentator Nick Schulman asked about Robl.

In the end, Dempsey profited about $210,000 in the hand, while Feinstein lost just under $140,000 and Robl dropped about $70,000. The hand isn't technically among the biggest hands in the show's history because it was a chopped pot. The largest pot ever on High Stakes Poker$1,412,500 — went to Alan Keating in Episode 10 of Season 14.
