Despite the ongoing poker controversy in Texas, the Lone Star State isn't slowing down. Later this month will see the start of the PokerGO Tour (PGT) Texas Poker Open, a series taking place at Champions Club Texas in Houston from April 29-May 11.
The series will feature several high roller events and will culminate with the $2,200 Texas Poker Open Main Event with a $1 million guarantee. It will take place on the heals of the first-ever World Series of Poker (WSOP) Circuit stop in the state, making it the perfect time to ride slab on road trip down south.
Win a Poker Title in Texas
The Texas Poker Open will kick off on April 29 with a $400 Monster Stack event with a $100,000 guarantee attached. That isn't the only guarantee of the series, as there are also several $300 1 Day NLH events that each have $25,000 guarantees attached.
But those the biggest guarantee of them all is the seven-figure Texas Poker Open Main Event, a $2,200 buy-in event that kicks off on May 7 with the first of six starting flights (including three turbo flights).
The three-day event will play to a winner on May 11, the same day that a $250 Last Chance Nightly NLH event will close out the series.
Like any PokerGO series, there will also be several high roller offerings. The first of five $3,300 buy-in PGT High Roller events will kick off on May 6.
Players who play the Main Event at TCH and then play the Texas Poker Open Main Event will receive a third night free with the purchase of a two-night stay.
Last year's $3,300 Texas Poker Open Main Event drew 699 runners and saw Ravee Sundara defeating Kaleb Harwell to win the trophy and $283,143.
The final table also included a handful of notable poker pros, including Andrew Moreno, Viet Vo and Justin Liberto.

The series follows the U.S. Poker Open in Las Vegas, which saw American high-stakes pro Brock Wilson winning his second straight PGT series title.
