The Bar Poker Open heads back to downtown Las Vegas from June 7-12, bringing thousands of recreational players to the Golden Nugget for six days of tournaments, parties, and one of the largest bar poker championships in the world.

More than 1,000 players representing over 30 leagues are expected to descend on Fremont Street for the annual festival, which features over $1 million in anticipated prize pools across a packed schedule of open events and the invitation-only Bar Poker Open World Championship.

The centerpiece of the series is that particular event, which is a $400 buy-in that boasts an estimated prize pool of more than $400,000 and a guaranteed $100,000 top prize. Unlike the rest of the schedule, the World Championship is reserved for players who have qualified through participating bar poker leagues throughout the year.

The World Championship begins on Monday, June 8, with two Day 1A flights scheduled at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Each flight is capped at 500 players, with approximately 10 percent of the field guaranteed a cash and the top five percent advancing to Day 2.

Players who fail to advance will have one more opportunity on Tuesday, June 9, during the Day 1B Second Chance flight. Those fortunate enough to qualify multiple times will take their largest stack forward and receive a $1,500 bonus.

Day 2 gets underway on Wednesday, June 10, with survivors returning to battle through 40-minute levels. The final table is then set to play out under the lights on Thursday, June 11, with Gorilla Gaming providing cards-up coverage across YouTube, Facebook, and Twitch.

Plenty for the Public

While the World Championship itself is invitational, the rest of the schedule is open to all players.

Action kicks off on June 7 with Golden Saturday, a $200 No-Limit Hold'em event carrying a $30,000 guarantee, alongside a $400 Pot-Limit Omaha tournament with a $20,000 guarantee.

Other highlights include a $500 H.O.R.S.E Championship, a $500 8-Game Mix Championship, a $250 Mixed Triple Draw Lowball event, the popular Tag Team No-Limit Hold'em tournament, and daily No-Limit Hold'em and turbo events.

The series also features a Charity Series of Poker event on June 11, while bounty hunters will get their chance later that evening in the Green Chip Bounty tournament.

More Than Just Poker

One of the biggest attractions away from the felt comes on Wednesday night when the Bar Poker Open hosts its annual player party at the Golden Nugget's famous Shark Tank pool complex.

The event has become a tradition for many attendees and serves as a midweek celebration before the World Championship reaches its conclusion.

With more than $1 million in anticpated prizes, live-streamed feature tables, a six-figure first prize, and players traveling from leagues across North America and beyond, the Bar Poker Open once again looks set to turn downtown Las Vegas into the center of the bar poker world.
