With the start of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) this week, the summer poker action in Las Vegas is now in full swing. And later this week there's an opportunity for to play for a good cause and win prizes along the way.
The Charity Series of Poker (CSOP) is hosting its 100th event, a special anniversary event that will take place at the Vegas Auto Gallery on May 30. The "CSOP One Hundred" event will include a $200 buy-in charity poker tournament with $100 re-buys, a cocktail hour and a silent auction with an array of intriguing items up for bid, including Bianco watches, an autographed painting from the punk band NOFX and an Oceanview cruise cabin.
Keep It 100 With CSOP
The CSOP, founded and run by poker pro Matt Stout, has raised ten millions of dollars for various causes, from fighting life-threatening illnesses to supporting law enforcement and low-income families in need. The CSOP has also helped those in the poker community get their lives on track, as described in a recent feature story for PokerNews about Ken Strauss, better known as the "Naked Bandit."
The 100th event will raise money to keep that mission going, with the tournament benefiting CSOP with the goal of "helping us continue to purchase tables, chips, computers, TVs, and other equipment that we provide to our beneficiaries year-round—free of charge."

It's going to be an exciting summer for the CSOP, which is also gearing up to partner with actress Shannon Elizabeth for the second annual Rhino Rumble Poker Championship at The Stirling Club on June 28.
In a recent interview, Elizabeth told PokerNews that the event will raise money for the Khusela Endangered Wildlife Sanctuary in South Africa.
"We're starting to make some headway with the local community to start helping them," the American Pie star told PokerNews. "So there's a lot going on out there, so we really need to raise funds."
