The RunGood Poker Series (RGPS) is taking its Golden Expedition to the East Coast with RGPS Golden Expedition Maryland, which will take place at MGM National Harbor in Maryland from Sept. 21-27.
The series will feature 12 ring events across seven days of action and will culminate with the $1,300 Main Event, which offers a $250,000 guaranteed prize pool. PokerNews will be on-site to live report the Main Event action.
Premier East Coast Poker Room
MGM National Harbor is a poker hot spot for U.S. grinders on the East Coast, operating one of the biggest poker rooms east of the Mississippi. PokerNews was at the property earlier this summer and provided a brief tour of the impressive property.
And now, the RunGood team is heading to MGM National Harbor as the series kicks off on Sept. 21 with $300 Tag Team Ring Event, an event that costs $150 per player and should see plenty of familiar RunGood faces in attendance.
Some highlights of the series include the $25,000 guaranteed $400 Seniors NLH Ring Event, and the $400 PokerNews PowerStack Ring Event, an event that offers a $50,000 guarantee across two starting flights.
There are plenty of events for the mixed game lovers, including the $500 Five Card PLO Ring Event and $500 Big O Ring Event.
The $1,300 Main Event will get underway on Sept. 24 with the first of three starting flights. The quarter-million guaranteed event will then play to a winner on Day 2 on Sept. 27.
That same day, the series will close out with the $25,000 guaranteed $500 Black Chip Bounty NLH Ring Event and $300 Send-Off NLH Ring Event.
Last Time in Maryland
The RunGood Team was already at MGM National Harbor earlier this year for April's 2026 RGPS Passport Maryland. That series featured a $1,300 Main Event that drew 307 runners for a prize pool of $349,980.
April's RGPS Passport Main Event saw Arash Asadabadi defeating John Major to win $73,037 and his first RGPS ring. Asadabadi was confident heading into heads-up play, and his confidence paid off.
"I felt that I was due this one and from the start of playing, I felt that I'm gonna win it," he told PokerNews. "I don't know why, even when we were discussing the chop heads-up, I was like, nah, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna win it. Sometimes it's like that, you have to believe it."
The final table also included glamorous RunGood ambassador Julie Cornelius, who could have been mistaken for Almost Famous' Penny Lane with her fluffy fur coat.
