Galino Doubles With Quads

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Jorge Galino and Helder Da Silva went at pre-flop when Galino opened to 2,500, and then called the raise of 6,000 from Da Silva. The flop of {6-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{7-Spades} saw Da Silva move all-in and Galino called.

Helder Da Silva: {A-Clubs}{9-Hearts}

The turn of {10-Spades} led to calls from Da Silva for a a "chop?" but the river came a {7-Clubs} meaning it was quad sevens to survive for Galino!

Da Silva, suddenly vocal and wishing to discuss how fortunate Galino had been, drops a little but remains ahead of his tablemate. You'd never know it.

The Field Thins Out

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

According to the screens, there are just 100 players remaining out of 169 entries. Alec Toreli was last spotted with some 25 big blinds, but those have since vanished. Peter Jaksland also stood up from his seat and simply said "queens against ace-king". Whether or not the Dane will re-enter today or get some sleep and attack again on Day 1c tomorrow remains to be seen.
