Down to 21 in the High Roller

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Martin Jacobson
Martin Jacobson

Dominik Nitsche and Martin Jacobson have been eliminated while the fellow 888poker ambassadors Daria Feshchenko, Chris Moorman and Sofia Lovgren all remain in contention. Lovgren is among the big stacks along with Sonny Franco, others still in contention include Sonny Franco, Carl Shaw, Ignacio Molina and Sergio Alonso.

They are currently in level 19 at blinds of 6,000-12,000 with a big blind ante of 12,000. Only 21 remain out of 103 entries and the top 11 spots get paid. It seems very likely that the action will wrap up once the field is cut down to the final table of nine.

Jacobson wasted little time before jumping into the Main Event action .

Duarte Doubles Through Demidov

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante

On a three-way flop of {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}, Renato Messina had called a raise b Andrey Demidov and Nuno Duarte jammed for more than 51,000. Demidov called and that forced out Messina.

Nuno Duarte: {q-Clubs}{j-Spades}
Andrey Demidov: {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}

The {8-Clubs} turn and {a-Hearts} river failed to improve Demidov to a full house and he had to fork over around one third of his stack.

An Ace Works for Sebastiani and Yang

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante

Yang tabled the {a-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} and Sebastiani chopped with the {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts}.

Nuts for Monton

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante

As the blinds slowly climb, the average pot size is getting bigger and several players have emerged with more than two times the starting stack.

One of them is Miguel Monton, who just chipped up some more. Monton check-raised the {j-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{9-Spades}{a-Spades} turn from 7,000 to 20,000 in order to pick up a call. Monton checked the {8-Diamonds} and his opponent checked back to get shown {k-Hearts}{q-Clubs} for the nuts.

Mitrovski Felts Jaworski

Level 7 : 400/800, 800 ante
Marcin Jaworski
Marcin Jaworski

In a hand that lasted a few minutes into the last break, a four-way pot to the {j-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} flop emerged in which 1,500 chips went in preflop. Alberto Blanco led for 5,000 and was called by Marcin Jaworski and Tom-Aksel Bedell.

Marjan Mitrovski then simply moved all-in with his massive stack which covered all his opponents and Blanco folded. Jaworski made the call and Bedell got out of the way.

Marcin Jaworski: {3-Clubs}{3-Hearts}
Marjan Mitrovski: {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}

Nothing changed on the {j-Spades} turn and {6-Hearts} river to end Jaworski's first bullet on Day 1a after a mere five minutes.

"I always have big hands just before the break, " a delighted Mitrovski said before he headed into the break.

Panev Busts Ziso

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante
Ivaylo Panev
Ivaylo Panev

Joining the action on the {a-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{4-Spades} turn, Ivaylo Panev check-called a bet of 11,000 and bet the {j-Spades} on the river for 35,000. His only opponent was Elton Ziso, who had slightly more than that behind.

Ziso shrugged, splashed in his chips and Panev asked if it was a call or shove. Ziso didn't say anything and Panev turned over the {k-Hearts}{q-Clubs} for the straight, Ziso mucked {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} in disgust and walked away from the table.
