Trips vs. Trips Boosts Zahn

Level 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Six players were in a hand on a {k-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{9-Hearts} flop. It checked to Ian Simpson who bet 3,500 and got two callers. Jimmy Zahn then check-raised to 14,000. Simpson folded but Zahn still got one caller.

The turn was the {3-Hearts} and it checked to Zahn who bet 34,000. His opponent called and then both players checked the {j-Clubs} river.

His opponent turned over {9-Spades}{2-Spades} for trip nines, but Zahn had that beat with {q-Spades}{9-Diamonds} for better trips and he moved above 150,000 in chips.

So how is Mantovani going to deal with Simpson two seats to his direct left?

"I'm just going to do my thing," said Mantovani. "Play very tight and see what happens."

Simpson remain tight-lipped with a smile.

"It should be fun," said Mantovani.

Postle Escapes Court-Ordered Debt Following Poker Score...This Time

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Mike Postle
Mike Postle

Rumors that Mike Postle's recent poker tournament winnings were seized are inaccurate, lawyers for Veronica Brill confirmed to PokerNews. But those same attorneys will continue to keep the pressure on the accused poker cheater in hopes of one day collecting a $27,000 court-ordered debt.

Postle finished seventh for $32,703 in the $1,200 buy-in Million Dollar Heater series Main Event at Beau Rivage Casino, an MGM Resorts property. On his final hand, in which he held an over-pair, his opponent Brock Gary tanked for 30 seconds facing an all-in bet before calling with top set.

Although Postle resides in Northern California and is originally from Wisconsin, he has a lengthy history of playing poker in Mississippi, including at Beau Rivage.

Level 7 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Ian Simpson
Ian Simpson

PokerNews kept an eye on 888poker Ambassador Ian Simpson for an entire orbit to see what he got up to, and whether he was able to increase his stack at all...

Hand #1: After a limp and a raise to 800, Simpson raised to 3,000 on the button and went multi-ways to the flop. On {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{k-Hearts} it checked to him and he continued for 8,000. He got one caller and the turn was the {q-Clubs}.

Again it checked to him and he bet 10,000. His opponent called and both players checked the {a-Diamonds} river. His opponent mucked, but Simpson still opened {k-Spades}{7-Spades} for two pair on the table and took down the pot.

Hand #2: After an open to 2,500, Simpson folded the cutoff.

Hand #3: After two limps and a shove, Simpson folded the hijack.

Hands #4 & #5: Simpson open-folded from middle position.

Hand #6: Simpson folded after an under the gun open and a call.

Hand #7: The button opened to 2,000 and Simpson folded his small blind.
