£888 Main Event
Day 1de Started
A packed house is expected inside the Grosvenor Casino Merchant City today when Day 1d of the 888poker Live Glasgow Main Event begins at noon local time.
The fourth starting flight is expected to be the largest one yet as players seek one of the last chances to take their shot at the title. A total of 133 players have entered through the first three flights, with 24 already securing their tickets into Day 2.
888poker Ambassador Ian Simpson, who won the last 888poker Live event in Madrid in January, waited until late last night to put himself in pole position for another run at a trophy. Simpson dominated the turbo Day 1c flight and was the only one to advance out of 13 entries, bagging up 390,000 and the chip lead so far.

Around 14,000 was already in the middle as Callum Gordon and Steven Lewzey went to the turn on a board of Q♣10♥5♠4♠. Lewzey then bet 8,000 from under the gun and Gordon called in middle position.
The river was the J♣ and Lewzey slowed down and checked. Gordon then moved all in for 16,500. Lewzey, who had around the same amount remaining, tanked for several minutes before another player at the table called the clock.
Lewzey was given a minute to act and allowed the countdown to run down to zero before his hand was declared dead and Gordon pushed the massive pot.

Margiotta turned over 10♠10♣ for a flopped set that turned into a full house and Gill mucked 9♥9♣.
