It’s been more than two years since 888poker Live came to the heart of London, and so much has changed over that time.

The Grosvenor Victoria Casino in London’s Marylebone district recently unveiled the results of a £15 million renovation project and is ready to show off its new look when, for the first time in nearly 900 days, the £1,250 888poker Live London Main Event kicks off today at 1 p.m. local time.

This is the first of three starting flights that take place over the next two days. The first two flights consist of 14 40-minute levels, with players beginning with a 30,000 starting stack. There is a break after every three levels and a 60-minute dinner break after Level 6.

There is also a turbo Day 1c flight with 20 minute levels at 8 p.m. on September 12. All survivors combine for Day 2 on September 13 at noon, with late registration remaining open until the start of the day.

The last time an 888poker Live festival was held here in London, David McConachie beat out a field of 385 players to win the £83,100 top prize. McConachie just missed becoming the first player to win two 888poker Live titles when he finished runner-up at the last stop in Barcelona in May.

It’s already been a successful series for 888poker Ambassador Vivian Saliba, who won the Big Shot event a few days ago and is the chip leader after Day 1 of the High Roller. Right behind her on the leaderboard is fellow team member Ian Simpson. They and the rest of the 888poker team are sure to be out in full force taking a shot at the Main Event title and £250,000 guaranteed prize pool over the coming days.

Stay tuned as PokerNews follows all the action when The Vic welcomes back the poker world.
