We’ve lost another player with Lukas Byrns the latest to visit the cashier. We picked up the action on a flop of . From the small blind, Byrns led out with a bet of 26,000 which was called by Jonathan Bredin in the big blind as Daniel Laidlaw got out of the way before the fell on the turn.
Byrns bet again for 28,000 and again Bredin called to see the complete the board. Byrns kept on swinging as he announced himself all in for around 100,000. Bredin requested another look at his cards and took a moment before motioning for a call.
Byrns stood up and tabled for top pair but Bredin had trips with to scoop the monster pot. Byrns will NZ$7,650 for 12th place as Bredin now has just under 500,000 chips to continue his dominance.
Check out the approximate counts on Table 2. Jon Pierre Narbey is crushing, while two of the shortest stacks in the field in Colin Carpenter and Chiu Yeung Lee are on this table.
Jackson Zheng was on of the chip leaders not too long ago, but now has one of the smaller stacks in the tournament. More of Zheng's chips recently went in the opposite direction of his stack. We arrived at the action with Zheng involved in a fairly big hand against Jonathan Bredin. There was a board out on the felt and already quite a large pot in the middle. Bredin had checked over to Zheng on the button and Zheng bet 27,000. Back on Bredin and he moved all in for his huge stack. Zheng quickly folded and that was that.
Jon Pierre Narbey was under the gun when he limped in. Asj Taylor, on Narbey's direct left, moved all in for 72,000. Folded around to Michael Chon on the button and he moved all in for 176,000. With that action back on Narbey, he went into the tank and looked truly pained at the decision in front of him. Eventually Narbey folded and Taylor was at risk against Chon.
Taylor:
Chon:
It was a race situation which would go Chon's way as a board meant that Taylor was eliminated in 13th place for a NZ$5,950 score. The next payout is NZ$7,650.
